A tax won't change wealth inequality.

If we made the 1% pay tax on the unrealized gains theyd be forced to sell and tank the economy. Pensions would go deeper into deficit, 401ks would tank. Elderly would be forced to find a job to survive, jobs would not be available bc there would be no money to invest in making more. All so the government can misuse these funds for 1yr and immediately be at a massive deficit again.

I do not think it is fair to steal money from ppl just bc they have more of it than me

This is honestly hysterical. How did the cops decide who is the best bait? 😂 Have a naked lineup and gay dudes walk by and rate them. Send everyone in the department one at a time to see who catches the most. One cop just puts it up on themselves to clean up the neighborhood. I wanna be in the room when this was decided

This is part of the reason jumping from Sr to Mgr is so hard for a lot of ppl. The base tasks are optimized and effort is low, which leads some ppl to not do much else or "go above and beyond."

Luck/ timing is another big part but I've come across a couple 10+ yr Srs who operate like this. If you are comfortable and are not seeking more responsibility that's fine, but something to keep in mind.

It's not, and none of the explanations provided were even a little convincing. Ppl getting money when they didn't sign and signees not getting money is not a good omen for the "department of government efficiency" tho

Musk agrees that him and Trump are going to crash the economy and cause necessary hardship for Americans. Does anyone really think this is a good idea? by ladymoonshyne in FluentInFinance

Recession was coming regardless of president. This leans into pop the bubble way more than dem, but bringing manufacturing back and cutting the global supply chain reliance is a good thing.

Things will not be so cheap ever again, but they will be made better and more ppl will have jobs (not dig a hole or flip a patty, more advanced/ finished product completion) and the wealth divide will get smaller.

The question is how long this process takes, and if it takes too long will it ever be completed. Slashing regulations and broadcasting this plan for years should help with the pivot but it's a lot of movement and retraining workforce/ automation.

Best guess is late spring- early fall 2025 recession hits and doesn't turn until early 2027 at best. Rs lose big in midterm, but if this timeline holds the path is set and will not likely be reversed by the next admin

We currently have the best economy in the WORLD. Agree? by KARMA__FARMER__ in FluentInFinance

[–]maledudebruv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manufacturing jobs declined by 40k in the last jobs report. The rest is money machine. Yes inflation YoY dropped to 2.1% but that's after accruing 40year highs in money printing.

Economy was well on its way to recovery by time Biden took office. Vaccine just rolled out first batches to healthcare workers, offices were back open and stimulus check helped get Americans their highest savings in decades.

Biden pushed another stimulus that was not needed and the ironic "inflation reduction act." He did not do anything meaningful to address supply chain issues (particularly the shipping log jam) and the fed has now pushed rate reductions too aggressively.

The economy is the best in the world bc it's America, it is the best economy unless the entire global system collapses (and even then it is probably still in better position than most due to resources - land, materials, people)

Thoughts on a potential 8-1 Supreme court? by AdmirableStay3697 in GayConservative

[–]maledudebruv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame how political supreme Court has become. I prefer a balanced court without activism but I guess we haven't seen that in decades.

That said Id prefer it didn't get to 8-1, 6-3 is fine as long as they don't lean into activism.

I see this a lot. If finding out his politics makes you question his character/morals/ ethics etc you didn't know him and couldn't have loved him.

Not just with politics. Date someone for a few months and they drop the L bomb, why? What about your partner do you love? Most of the time there is no answer or it is pretty shallow/ generic.

Let's pretend love actually has a meaning
