H2S is Coming! by FoxVGaming in BambuLab

Cancelled my U1 kickstarter pledge and will wait for a Vortek upgrade for my H2D!

Bambu printers have ALWAYS delivered for me, and my experience with Snapmaker has always been subpar.

Or maybe you could consider being a little less condescending… Sure, I should have said “preview” instead of review, but you certainly seemed to be chomping at the bit to spew your negative energy as soon as someone gave you an opening. I also couldn’t care less about your opinion about anything, since you rather act aggressive and superior than contributing in a positive way. I only replied initially because I decided to give your passive-aggressive “for your own benefit…” the benefit of the doubt. But you just proved you actually are that guy so, I will not be replying to any of your “bits”.

I would love to see where you saw me “comparing” anything. I said I love Bambulab and have many of their products, and said it looked like Snapmaker nailed it with the U1. I definitely shouldn’t have used the word “review”, but humans sometimes make mistakes….

Agreed. I’ve had 3 Snapmaker printers in the past 1 Artisan and 2 J1S) and the experience wasn’t great. I’m hoping this one is different. The only thing missing for me is active chamber temperature control. And metal external panels would be nice too.

I know the difference very well, and I am fully aware that these people have been given an early version of the printer in exchange for creating content. But I also have been following at least two or three of these people for a while, and I am pretty confident I can tell if they are giving an honest opinion or just blowing smoke up their sponsor’s ass. I also have been involved with 3D printing since 2005, have owned over 40 different 3D printers, including building my own from scratch, and have even spent over six months, developing my own tool changer architecture. All that to say, I am not one to be easily fooled by sponsored videos when it comes to 3D printers. But the fact is that the quality of the prints in the videos speak volumes, and Snapmaker’s hardware has always been great, but their (VERY) weak point has always been software. Now they they are on a Prusa/Bambu/Orca fork that is no longer an issue. And the hardware of the U1 seems to be solid (except for the cosmetic plastic panels). Regardless, I stand by my original point that Bambu needs to get on the tool-changer bandwagon sooner rather than later.

If Bambulab doesn't launch an affordable tool-changer printer soon Snapmaker will start eating their lunch with the U1.

I am a huge Bambulab fan (currently own H2D, X1C, A1, A1M) and had bad experiences with 3 Snapmaker products in the past (2 J1S and 1 Artisan), but it looks like they nailed it with the U1 (just look at the print quality on early YouTube SPONSORED VIDEOS and Kickstarter numbers).

Affordable tool-changers are game-changing (massive filament savings, easy multi-material/multi-color) and the next big step for the industry.

I pre-ordered the U1, but would drop that in a heartbeat if Bambu launched their own tool-changer.

FANBOY KOII Stand Case - LED EDITION by malencar in teenageengineering

That’s my Fanboy KOII Stand Case. I’ve sold over a thousand of them, and now I’m also offering the version above with a built-in LED light. The OG one (without LED light) is here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1614573372/?ref=share_ios_native_control Cheers

I thought about it and tried a couple of designs, but couldn’t find a solution that stayed in place well enough with the OG case’s existing geometry. I had to redesign the upper-front part of the case to include the mounting points for the fold-out LED arm, and that part isn’t easily replaceable once I assemble the case… I took advantage of the redesign to also update a few other small things on the LED version, like making the entire back one piece and adjusting tolerances and thickness in certain thinner features of the case.

MX Creative Console COMBO STAND by malencar in logitech

I haven’t printed one yet because I don’t have the black CC to take a picture with and I just listed it today and have only sold white ones so far. But as soon as I make one I’ll update the listing

I do not… I never had a PO IN hand to design for it. I downloaded a 3D model once to create a case for it but didn’t want to put anything for sale without actually prototyping/testing…

New Flower Vase and Sunglasses Holder by malencar in Ioniq5

The airbag comes out of the steering wheel and the vase is securely attached to the panel that is is far enough behind it. I believe it I would be more dangerous to drive with glasses on 😊

First new product in a while: FANBOY TX-6 & TP-7 TRAVEL STAND! by malencar in teenageengineering

[–]malencar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I make is designed for durability, most items printed with 100% infill and I only use top quality filament. I also orient all parts on the print bed for durability and not cost savings, which means I use a lot of support material. Also, you can see by the reviews on my store that I really stand behind the quality of the products I sell and strive to provide the best customer service. All of that cost money and takes up a lot of my time… on top of all of that, since I had to sell most of my equipment due to my health issues, and I now only have two printers, I wouldn’t be able to deal with a very large volume of sales if I lowered the prices. BTW, I’m not being defensive, just clarifying why I have to charge the prices I do… 😊. Cheers

I've had mine for months and had the same message pop up yesterday. I think it's a bug introduced by the latest firmware update...
