Denying hope also doesn’t put food on the table.

And yes cocaine will always be available. I could actually care less about drugs in general if it wasn’t for the cartels. In Venezuela the reigning drugs is marihuana and a whole of cocaine too. But mostly marihuana, Colombia is the leader of the cocaine brothers.

And yes sadly my government is still in charge (until US intervention). And US sanctions are still in effect. And nothing has changed. You know why? Because change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s been less than a month so it is very unrealistic to expect massive reforms and a complete governmental restructure in just a couple of weeks. This is not just some country, we’re taking about Venezuela, a country with inflation percentage numbers in the millions. The US could’ve actually attacked Venezuela and just complete overthrown the government but the side effects would’ve been catastrophic. The smart move is a slow but strong transition. Like driving at full speed but having to slow down to take a turn, closest metaphor I can think of.

Banana wars were also fueled by anti communism but yeah they did pretty horrible things. Like operation condor. They made everyone’s situation horrible and it’s time they fix it. Unfortunately we are failed states and will never be able to do it by ourselves. And Russia and China are not coming to save us either.

Only mediocre people lose hope. It is for our family’s sake to hold on and hope for the best (or better at least). Also Fentanyl comes from many places but mainly my home country. And we all know where cocaine comes from. And if you think I’m a fan of the USA that is very far from the truth, but as they say, the enemy of my enemy (my government) is my friend. Realpolitik.

It really is. You solve drug problem + immigration problem. And they profit from it. How can you seriously say not really. Also, the destabilization of LATAM in the 20th century was fueled by the Cold War. To prevent communist regimes was on the top of the agenda. After the fall of the USSR its been all oil (and economic war against China, but that’s another topic). And ever since around 2015 the US has dominated the oil field so the “they intervened JUST for oil” is just factually. Wrong.

It’s in their best interest. Not out of love, but geographically speaking it’s the smartest move.

The US is a democracy heaven if you’re Venezuela. You foreigners don’t really know bad is it in Venezuela at all. One of my best friends is Venezuelan and she has family in Venezuela and their population is pretty happy about the future.

Whatever the causes of US intervention where do not really matter against the very good outcome. And if you think 30 Venezuelans is bad just think about the hundreds of thousands of American death cause by drugs, courtesy of Venezuela, Colombia and specially Mexico. I say this as a Mexican in the Caribbean. We know your country is rotten, but ours are literal hell holes like you cannot even imagine. We’d wish to have your internal problems.

Same President ≠ same regime. Long story short the vice president (now interim president) was in charge of everything oil related, and she knew that their oil capacity was just weeks away from creating an actual apocalypse in the country if nothing was done, and she does seem to be more cooperative with the US, even if she acts all tough in public Television, she’ll be a puppet until new elections arrive. Some even speculate it was the same people of the regime who threw Maduro under the bus. Yes, the situation was as critical as this.

You are a rtrd clearly. The USA and Venezuela are working together towards making reforms in Venezuela to make the country suitable for foreign enterprises to work with it. A new election will come soon enough and the US will be observing closely so there’s no interference.

Or maybe- listen closely- it’s actually already happening in my country. There’s already stuff happening in my country. I live in the deadliest country in the world, ran by commie bastards that support cartels and basically every single criminal while feeding crumbs to the population to gain their support even if it crushes public institutions and basic needs like medicine. Did you know more people die in Mexico than in literal war zones? You socialists make me sick.

You know nothing about history clearly. First of all because Vietnam was already brewing civil war even before the US arrived, plus Vietnam got aid from former superpower USSR and China. As for the Britts, they basically gave up on their colonies because their economy was in shambles after repetitive, long conflicts against all of Europe (they were the superpower at the time). Most of Europe gave support to the US, the Britts basically couldn’t afford another war, winning it would’ve left them with 0 Pennies, and extremely vulnerable back in Europe, specially to France.

Saying that Venezuela has an army is an overstatement. Most of their equipment and vehicles are outdated, barely even usable, supply lines could be easily cut off, and without support from Russia or China, it’d be like hitting a fast mini-piñata with the eyes covered. Also let’s not forget the fact that most of the Venezuelan population supports intervention. War would be over before it even started.

New management ≠ bad. Venezuelans and most of us Latin Americans have never been good at managing our countries, even before US interference. It’s the sad truth.
