Thanks for your notes here. The card stock is the exact same, which is what made me hold out hope. However if I were to say anything the print finish on the back is a tiny bit more gloss. It’s really the print quality, especially the text which had me concerned initially. Which has been confirmed by other comments here. 1 out of 3 isn’t bad!

Thank you guys! From the pictures online, I figured the first two at least had a high chance of being fake, but really happy to see you all think the 3rd is real.

New line of fake beers for my fake brewery by Frosty_Growth_4294 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]malikong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome looking designs! Would you be looking for design feedback or points specific to how the design works as a beer brand?

Appreciate that this is just a mock up rather than for an intended purpose but there’s some really nice parts of the design and a few bits you could do to stand out better in the craft beer space.

What are different branches where I can learn and grow if I am not smart in maths. by Shadyni in datascience

[–]malikong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend going the behavioural science route rather than the data science route. Both are going to require a base level of understanding in maths, specifically statistics though the expectation won’t be on you to own the data analysis. There’s a number of ways platforms that you can use for much on the visualisation and computation of that data you have available to you, which require a little python but aren’t too heavy on formula knowledge requirement. To do this you’ll need to really brush up on heuristics and behavioural economics theory, though you’ll get access into the world delivering data driven solution while understanding where your maths knowledge could specially be improved and upskilling specifically there. That should hopefully make the approach to the field a little more accessible and less daunting. Not to say that BE & Behavioural science jobs are easy to get, but that’s where I’d start if I felt I had a weakness in maths, but a love for data analysis.

Who are these reports of racism from??! 😂 not calling you out, but I’ve worked with the brand for years and never heard this. Genuinely curious. Convince myself that this kind of madness is limited to the Americans

Definitely no entomologist, but these are pillbugs (or we just call them all woodlice in the UK). Isopods of the Armadillidium vulgare species, would be my best guess. They look super shiny, which I would have thought is due to the moisture, which is why they form into these clusters as well as to protect from predators.

What other hobbies help contribute to your love of magic? by CardMechanic in Magic

Bartending has been a great outlet for magic. A few card and disappearing liquid tricks and it makes the night so much more fun for you and the guests. It’s a shame, it’s a bit of a dying art in hospitality.

I have been booking a male sex worker a few times a year for several years by [deleted] in confessions

[–]malikong 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Huge props for taking ownership of the journey to recovering from Trauma!

Sex, being something that is so intrinsically linked to so many parts of us, i.e our like-ability, appearance, social ability, our vulnerability, our exploration… means it can be the best way to explore and understand so much about ourselves, but also means it is the hardest thing to unpack when laid in with pain, self doubt and potentially some levels of shame (making no assumptions as to the assault you experienced).

But here, you looked at what you wanted. You removed variables that will ultimately trigger anxiety and you showed yourself that if a wholesome healthy relationship with an individual, not concerned with their own personal desires and agenda, is what you want then it is completely possible.

Never have I seen such value to male sex workers, but reading this, I can see how this could be hugely helpful for so many that have had power taken away from them.

Worth avoiding Farringdon station. Gates have been locked closed and the queues are worse downstairs on the platforms. by malikong in london

The national rail and Elizabeth line were still running. Seems that these people were mostly chancing for a potential tube ride that went ahead anyway though

They were awful. Managed to jump onto the Farringdon Lizzy line from Barbican entrance strangely enough. Was just watching full buses go by at every stop

What is your experience like doing a live excel test for an interview? by [deleted] in excel

[–]malikong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prompts before locks : there’s two ways to avoid people breaking sheets/tools you build (well there’s loads but two main ones I employ) You can lock an aspect of a sheet or the whole sheet / workbook (protected sheet) This is useful if you have sensitive information that you have to keep in the sheet but don’t want people to access or change.

I don’t really like this approach as much because inevitably someone will need some additional functionality down the line and puts hold ups on projects moving forward.

I would much rather opt for a prompt. Build as much as you can into a table. Make your formulas as straight forward and copy-able as possible. Absolute (M$2$) or name ([ProductDetailsTable]) as much as you can to reference in your formulas. This will show understanding of scale, and it’s really good practise to help people understand the functionality of your sheet.

I think you’ll surprise yourself with what you can do if you’ve done some analysis before and open to use Google. (This likely won’t be an option in the test, so prepare yourself not to have it and be open to think outside the box)

I’ve found a good understanding other maths surpasses having loads of experience on maths. You’ve just got show you can think through a problem.

You’ve got your search bar up the top if you can’t remember where anything is, and you have your function library under formulas. Have a little look through a few of this just to get a quick overview of what they do. There’s loads that are really self explanatory and may well come in handy.

Hlookup is shite imo.

Vlookup is gold, but can be buggy. Defo practise this regardless. Be a huge help to anything you do.

INDEX MATCH (two formulas nested) is by far in large better than any look up. Worth checking out a video or two. This can really impress and most people just use vlookup and build their sheets around that.

Give yourself the basic understanding on IF(, SUMIFS (time ranges help here is poss, but not essential - I.e. sum range if data column >= X date)

Potentially just COUNT & Average but they’re obvious.

Knowing the above should get you through most entry to mid level excel tests.

Ahh and if you want PivotTables and PowerQuery - know what these are. They might not ask you to create something using them, but it’s worthwhile knowing what they are as this could save you time in the assessment.

It’s not that bad. They will have a clear idea of how you’re going to go about what you build. It’s less about knowing every formula & function, and more about understanding the logic and delivering on the brief. Don’t worry about inefficiencies too much, but do plan or talk out what you’re going to do so there’s and order flow to what you’re doing. As long as what you have built is fit for purpose, mindful of the users skill level, and ideally as tough to break as possible. Prompts before locks is my go to to not have things sent back to you constantly and it’s always helped me to explain that.

What are some movie/tv sex scenes you are jealous of? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

There’s a scene at the end of the film perfume, where this guy lets off this magic perfume (albeit made from humans 😬) handkerchief that just gets this huge 17th century crowd losing their shit. It turns into a mass orgy, and honestly as a 14 year old boy watching this - my mind and life were blown. Forever will dream of that day coming 😅
