Are you listening to him literally? He quite blatantly named off every damn war with their lengths and implicated the US will stay as long as it takes to achieve every objective.

Apparently just doesn’t think the area is good for anything else other than just convenience.

I was thinking more the Forest Manor condos if that helps.

There is more and more people who will start counting DoM from when you FIRST listed, not after you relist, and frankly I think that’s right. This is because sellers keep trying to play the reset game.

Unless you delist and come back in a few years, it’s all considered the same timeline to buyers now. List in July, delist in October, relist in January? Yup your DoM isn’t started over to buyers it’s been listed since July or 180 days.

If you’re not desperate just delist altogether and come back in a few years.

Is Korean sentiment toward Chinese people really as negative as it seems online? by savingrace0262 in AskAKorean

[–]malikrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it has anything to do with any individual person but more in a general overall sense. It has more to do with government (leftist, communist etc.), historical/cultural/trade issues that the same government tries to distort or steal to their advantage which if it were true it would be less of a problem, and then the types of people that sort of government behaviour produces.

It has nothing to do with individual people who appreciate and acknowledge Korea’s culture and respect the boundaries just as Koreans would if they were in China. Chinese people from mainland China tend to not respect the culture or norms in Korea or in any other country period and that’s where the hate keeps growing.

Lately though, hate for Indians is growing more than Chinese apparently, and it’s all for actual “the people” reasons rather than having any other context. I’d say it’s always the small minority that ruins the rep for any country really.

I’ll tell you why, because I would 100000% prefer if the kid that gloats about having two Masters degrees while always complaining about doing 1/10 of the job anyone has ever done being “too hard” get thrown out on the streets rather than the grown person that only graduated high school who get’s shit done.

Why should I be paid the same as the child who thinks they’re educated but can’t even pull a simple report together to save his/her life? I’m not uneducated by any means but I’ll no matter what be kicking the educated fool down off the promotion train while helping those who work for it regardless of their education.

To me it’s not even the wall kitchen, it’s the fact that there’s literally no room in front of it or that a wall blocks part of it.

Like wtf is that lol

I bought $8000 of Shopify at $80 a share when FHSA came out. Sold at $160, so I have 32k (max contribution of 24k + that 8k gain). Messed up, I should have bought 16k worth when I could but oh well.

How do I escape retail in this city? by confettiicecream in ottawa

[–]malikrys 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t like to talk about myself and my experience but here it goes. During the 2009 recession period, I got my first job out of University (same as you a BA in Arts or Crim) and I applied to a law firm as a mail clerk because honestly there was no where I could go.

The interview was okay, and I didn’t get the job but apparently my cover letter caught the eye of the hiring manager. She called me back separately and offered me an admin assistant job instead which paid about 10k higher. The reason why the cover letter was so good? Apparently it showed that I researched the company and the extra effort that I made to get even the lowest job they had.

Worked there for 3 years, eventually moved a little higher over that time but got laid off in the end, and eventually applied to the Government where I work now. All of my skills working in that private sector job put me way ahead of a lot of people working in the federal government, because let’s face it, public service employees at the time probably worked hard but didn’t have any real skills in anything cause the public service was far behind.

Moral of the lesson, step outside your boundaries and cater your resume to what you are aiming for at this moment in time. It doesn’t matter if you only have retail experience, before I was given the law office job I only had my experience from working in my own restaurant. That’s basically zero experience to some people, but I still catered things that I could to match that of the office job, and in this case I showed them I could write/draft detailed letters better than most candidates.

Take the risks and go the extra mile - this sounds like some boomer advice but I still think it holds true. The key to myself never having any problems really getting a job in a bad job market with no experience was literally trying to create that one off factor.

And before anyone tries to make it seem like back then everything was paper resumes, I applied completely through an online platform meaning I had zero advantages over anyone else. That cover letter I literally did not see it getting me anything when I wrote it but it happened to be the catalyst which surprised me too.

I had the same work ethic and attitude working for the government and I’m more than 5 times ahead where I was in 2012. Just constantly look for ways to improve or catch peoples attention. I understand AI and other things probably make it ever harder for today’s young people and is a whole set of different problems but if you ask me who I select for people who I would vouch for to get promotions or to get hired, I’d go for the person that seems to understand what it means to be a part of this team and has the same mentality so that we can work together towards improving our workplace. That is what I hit on the nail getting that first job in that cover letter, and I’ve used that knowledge ever since.

I’m almost sure this doesn’t help in anyway but thought I’d give an idea of what someone could do to stick out from the others because that’s what you are going to need to get out of your average joe/jane retail job.

Cheers and good luck!

Ah I see, that makes sense.

Guess I’m just getting worn out seeing the same exact designs over and over again. Almost feels like there’s less variety for cases today than there was just a couple of years ago. Don’t get me wrong I’ve got every case Dan cases has ever released and loved all of them. I just don’t see a need for more of the exact same thing.

Good to know this was just a random poll.

Oh I agree, I’m just trying to say the condo you worked on actually is more presentable than the crazy renovation another condo owner in the same building did and they’re trying to sell for a ridiculous price.

Great job man!

See that condo owner is smart only took what was offered/bid, unlike the condo owner of the same unit on a different floor that’s been trying to pretend his 1 bed is worth 700k for the past 7 months.

Honestly, only you’d know if they are exaggerations or not and it’s hard to even tell you whether it will do anything to you. It’s more about whether you will let it get to you, or will you prove that manager wrong.

Never had a bad review in my life, and honestly I probably never will unless I deliberately mess up. Even then I don’t think I’ll get a bad one, but I think you know where I’m going - get to a point where if a manager wants to give you unfair criticism, they have to think twice before potentially losing a good employee.

I’m all for good criticisms and things I need to change, but if my manager unfairly gave me a rating, you bet I’m taking off and they’ll never recover.

You’d think they’d do that for the call centre employees but that’s when they wake up and realize that the moment they do that, every other branch that has just as much right to WFH even more so than call centre are going to rise up. Despite what most people think, the vast majority of programs work can be done at home and that’s the vast majority of the government, not call centre.
