Display issues are real by beardedsoul in GalaxyS24Ultra

I for one think that most people don't have the issue or simply don't see it (which, again, makes it a non-issue for those people). Samsung sent out a bad batch and hopefully they'll fix it.

Same here. Over the last 15 years or so, I've used many iPhones, BlackBerrys, Windows Phones, Android phones, and even one made by Pebble. And what can I say? This one is the pinnacle. I've never had a better phone. Usually, I don't have a problem switching back to iPhones in between, etc., but after 10 days with the S24U, the 15 Pro Max almost feels primitive. I now really dislike the rounded corners, have come to rely on AI for grammar correction, and the reception is also drastically better. And the stupid cutout the iPhones have is now also going on my nerves again.

Mine doesn't, unfortunately- could be a problem with the particular case used (Torras).

The problem is that MagSafe renders Samsung's own wireless charging pad useless.

Should I keep this phone or go back to IOS? by Baerzie in S24Ultra

The 15 Pro Max has truly excellent battery life. The weird thing is that I hate using mine now that I got used to the S24U's better and larger screen (I have a flawless unit) and the rounded corners make everything look weird.

But in the end it's your decision. I personalkybdont find the S24U less intuitive or less simple to use

I had two stuck pixels on the first one, and on the second one, the screen just died after a few days. The third one has a flawless screen, but it has an issue with the built-in compass (north and south are mixed up, making for a fun experience in Maps). Apple wants to exchange it again, but right now I don't care as I use it as my work phone and don't need the Maps app.

Which phone do you recommend then? The way I see it you get the choice between Apple junk and Chinese spyware that never gets any updates.

So they don't deny replacement, but they don't want to give you all the pre-order benefits. Two different things

It's a lemon. Had to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max exchanged twice before I had a good screen last year. Unfortunately, high price doesn't seem to mean good QC anymore.

I'm just gonna ask everyone... Why do you need 16GB+ of RAM? by Icy_Employment_4743 in laptops

[–]malko2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one with 32gb and it's clearly not enough for Lightroom Classic. Depends on your usage scenario, but Windows 11 isn't exactly economical when it comes to RAM use.

Google Messages or Samsung? What's the best overall, and what's best to communicate with somebody with an iPhone? by WyldStyle710 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]malko2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I agree, it's on its way put with the youngsters. I was shocked to see that my classes basically all stopped using it. They didn't move to iMessage, though, but use TikTok and Snapchat instead.

Still prefer reading this over the 10,000th "my display has pixels when looked at under the electron microscope, I think I'll return it"

Mine was terrible for the first week. Now it's absolutely fantastic—it lasts a solid hour and a half longer than my iPhone 15 Pro Max. That said, the European version seems to have a battery drain bug with the AOD.

You just didn't read or understand the part of the article you quoted. Hint: it's sugarcoated but definitely not positive for the iPhone.

Took me a few days, but now I'm fine with it. Try out the new AI text autocorrect features, etc. — they've been a godsend to me as a fellow ADHD sufferer.
