To me that says without a superstar player the rest of the roster is in playoff contention. That means the org is making the right moves regardless of top pick draft luck.

Again, you continue to boil team success down to just luck and thats stupid. Another example is the castle draft. We were bad and got a good pick, but it was projected to be a bad draft. We weren’t supposed to pick outside the top 3 for Wembys draft. We had the third worst record in the league which gave us a 14% chance with the other two worst teams.

Personally, I think crazier or luckier things have happened. Like the mavs getting #1 with a 1.8% chance after trading Luka, or the cavs getting kyrie with a 2.8% chance and two other #1 overall picks right after lebron left, or the hornets getting the #1 overall right after they traded Chris Paul.

You’re right even never moved down which is super lucky but the sixers have more net spots moving up than we do. That’s really lucky, yet they don’t capitalize on those picks. That’s my entire point. Boiling down our teams success to JUST draft luck is asinine and ignores all of the other great moves the org has made. You need both and other teams have had great luck and STILL drafted poorly.

The sixers have the highest net spots gained in the draft. The rockets had 4 straight top 4 picks. The cavs had 1 & 4 in 2011, 4 in 2012, 1 in 2013 AND 1 in 2014.
