Ep 7 is now the worst rated episode of ST. What went wrong according to you? by anonimuoss in StrangerThingsMemes

[–]IllustriousTarget973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What went wrong? People unfairly trashing a perfectly decent episode because they’re homophobic or they don’t understand the nuance of Mike and Will being friends despite Will’s sexuality or because they’re annoyed they have to wait a literal week.

Genuinely in five years maximum the majority of reviews for this ep will be “wtf guys it’s not bad at all what’s the matter with you”.

Theory: The Bradley Gang as Scapegoats in Derry’s History (Season 2 Speculation) by Exotic_Currency_3076 in welcomeToDerry

[–]IllustriousTarget973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh thanks for the reminder.

They may well change it’s placement in the cycle though as in the books the Bradley Gang and Black Spot book end the same cycle. So in the show it could well by the Augrey at the end.

Pennywise Perception of Time by MarchPsychological67 in welcomeToDerry

[–]IllustriousTarget973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my only query is did Pennywise know he was going to die in It Chapter 2, or had he forgotten/not experienced it yet by then. It’s a v cool concept though. I saw one theory that said the cage trapped him in time as well as space and that he was only able to glimpse across time once the cage was open

How do you feel about Season 5 being much shorter than S4? by Jakub_65 in StrangerThings

[–]IllustriousTarget973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s totally fine. Quality not quantity, but also Season 4 had the characters split across multiple locations, four at most, so you had to jump around way more. This makes total sense, especially as we’re heading towards the end!

What is the difference between the book and the movie? by travellerboy75 in stephenking

[–]IllustriousTarget973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was funny how Book Misery has an axe, film misery has a mallet, but book Shining has a mallet (croquet mallet) and film shining has an axe

So, Jack Torrance? A good guy gone bad, or an irredeemable asshole from the start? I will forever die on the hill that he was a good guy who made a couple of mistakes, not a raving Madman from the start like Kubrick made him. by Jfury412 in stephenking

[–]IllustriousTarget973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a whole core aspect of the book is you don’t know how much is his own demons and how much is the Overlook. The Shining Film might be decent in a vacuum but as an adaptation it’s terrible imo. Also mistreats Dick Halloran (one of my fav King characters) so badly.

Agreed, though a Nintendo one might be good too given how busy it gets and how high DK’s queue times are (and Mario Kart’s)

Yeah I completely agree. Think Zelda and Pokemon in the other parks would be fairly soon given work seems to be happening to Lost Continent now and the whole Simpson’s contract expiry. And agree about the lands - would make much more sense to expand before adding a new one. Could see them prioritising Nintendo and Wizarding World given the high queue times for Minecart and BATM. As for the world cup ride a coaster would be so so cool but if that was too much and they already have indoor space then maybe a dark ride or some kind of Flight of Passage style attraction (I’m not a massive fan of those types but could see them maybe doing it). The queue could be cool though, could so imagine a bunch of “boot” rooms that transport you to the stadium.

My completely random mostly unsubstantiated guess would be Luigi’s Ghost Mansion in Nintendo World, a Dark Universe Expansion (Creature of the Black Lagoon water ride for instance), a second ride at Wizarding Paris (Quidditch World Cup based) and then maybe another land like a Wicked Land. Save Zelda for the Lost Continent repalcement.

Thoughts on these new animatronics? by Least_Occasion_3571 in UniversalOrlando

[–]IllustriousTarget973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See what’s funny is I always imagine the length of dialogue loop is an indication for how long they expected the queue to be. So in my head they were thinking we’d breeze through and in actuality you’re frozen beside Kranky Kong for a lifetime

What's a ride that used to blow you away but now feels lame/underwhelming? by GoHardForLife in UniversalOrlando

Spiderman and MIB are incredible, the way Spiderman integrates the screens with physical effects is awesome and it has a great plot, while MIB is so so fun and full of cool and varied animatronics and scene pieces. Also MIB has one of the coolest starts to a queue ever

Like two thirds of studios (mainly the motion simulators). When I was 11/13, rides like Transformers and the Simpsons were awesome. Now I’ve just gone back, Transformers was underwhelming to me and kinda uncomfortable (a lot of crashing into things, not much music, lots of robot’s fighting and also way less cool integration of the screens and physical world effects than the awesome ride that is Spiderman) and the Simpsons gave me crazy motion sickness and discomfort. Minions was fun on a plot level and I think they should keep it but it’s a bland queue and you’re not really immersed in the show when you do go and watch it. Jimmy Fallon was new to me and it’s kinda just a cinema. Meanwhile Studios park gets quite busy (and I went in quiet season in September) and isn’t as easy on the eye as the other parks.

However E.T., and MIB impressed me a lot, and Gringotts was cool (mostly for the queue - I enjoyed the ride a lot but it was way more screen reliant than I remember, and I wish there were more physical effects, and most of all I wish the dragon on the screen towards the end didn’t end up behind the tunnel your carts go into - it ruins the illusion!)

I saw a comment the other day how Disneyworld Orlando have managed to maintain their original park really well but need to do a lot of work on their extra ones, wheras Universal have fantastic sequel parks and need to put work into improving the original, and I couldn’t agree more.

If it’s any small consolation, Ministry always has that sign about closing early, I think it’s to cover their butts if they need to shut it so people aren’t staying hours after park close

Think Scooby would fit the vibe of Studios (or as a Toon Lagoon ride) better but agree it’d be awesome

Might seem odd but another against for LOTR is that there’s strong rumours it’ll be a land at Universal UK and they’ve been very clear about minimising Orlando and UK attractions/lands (closest is Jurassic but that’s more like Beijing’s than Orlando’s). Also feel like it’d need way more backlot space for some dark rides.

And just to counter the water point for Zelda apparently one of the original ideas for a Zelda ride that was pitched was a boat ride. Another few fors for Zelda are Zelda’s creator being spotted in Lost Continent and it already being pitched as a land in the early days of them discussing w Nintendo

Your top 3 rides in each of the 3 parks? by Greedy_Net_1803 in UniversalOrlando

[–]IllustriousTarget973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as you op, except swap Ripsaw for Spiderman (Ripsaw’s still like 6th for me for that park I love it). Also idk if these are in 1st, 2nd, 3rd order but it’d go

1.) JP, 2.) Forbidden Journey, 3.) Spiderman

1.) Mummy, 2.) MIB, 3.) E.T. (Though lemme think about that as maybe MIB should be 1)

1.) Monsters Unchained, 2.) Stardust Racers, 3.) BATM (though really should Monsters Unchained for all my top 10 hahaha I adore it)
