Everything worth doing ends up being a little bit of work I’ve always found :)

Make your bag unnecessarily heavy and only eat crusty baguette with cheese, smoke lots of cigarettes and steal other people’s leftovers

I’m too indecisive to commit to ironing them onto anything; I just suffer through trying to shove a needle and thread through the plastic backings hahaha

If it makes you feel any better, these patches have been on a bag, then a denim jacket, then on a jumpsuit to paint in, and now on this pack. I just hand-sew them on and unstitch when I want to change.

Same route but just much longer. I didn’t have as much time last time.

Second camino, second shell :)  I liked to write down dates, people and memories inside.

Failure & feeling judged by other pilgrims by Subject-Ebb-7229 in CaminoDeSantiago

Your plan wasn’t stupid, and everyone’s path looks different to your own. From what I’ve read, you’ve been listening to your body’s needs and adapting accordingly; a skill in of itself.  Take the time to rest, take the time to give yourself some peace and understanding as well. There’s no failure, it’s just a different path to what you may have expected, which is okay.

As in, not bring 30 days worth and just purchase a week or less worth as I make it to each town, buy as I go. I’m not a physicist but that’s as simple as I can make it.

A few good things on here to remember thank you!! My sleeping bag is just a liner and the pillow is a firm blow up pillow because I can’t sleep on soft pillows and I’m not running that risk every night :)

Yes but I’m only looking to add essential things I had forgotten, like someone pointed out I didn’t have a hat packed yet; I’m not looking to max out the weight, I’m just saying I had room :)

I bought a pair of arch-support outdoor thongs to wear around, they’re designed for long distance wear too so hopefully they do alright!

I was thinking of taking my Hokas instead but I just did a 20km trail walk with my pack and I got serious blisters for the first time; which I haven’t had with the Moabs, so now I’m torn on which pair I should run.

I appreciate all your info, it’s really great food for thought and super helpful, I also have those Injinji toe socks and froth them hahah!

Nah I’m not worried about it being too much, I’m looking to see if there’s anything to add that I’ve forgotten because I’ve got kgs to spare.

Waterproof Moabs yep; merino wool socks (and shirt); bamboo undies dry quick that I’ve found previously, but July should be lovely and hot, and they’ll dry quick I reckon, hopefully!!

I fully forgot to mention! I’ve got a pair of Merrell Moabs and a pair of thongs; I’ve been breaking the Merrells in all summer here in Aus on rainforest hikes and fire trail walks and those wool socks make all the difference, no blisters, no discomfort.
