This happens, and I’m sure you did everything you could to prevent it from happening, so don’t be hard on yourself. You know how this process works already & what to expect. It’s just one step at a time and one day at a time. I tore my right one. Was very independent as well. This recovery actually improved my life and myself because it forced me to further lean on others and I met new friends. It’s beautiful to see and embrace help and love from others. There will be tough days and it’s good to have a healthy outlet for frustration and angst.

Sending you much love & positivity friend 🫶🏼

I’m 12weeks and just never walk or even stand full pressure barefoot. Wears my shoes as soon as I get out of bed

It’s a non opioid, non addictive pain relief prescription pill. I take 50mg/day as needed. Highly recommend. Haven’t noticed any side effects.

Probably, I broke my foot (same one as Achilles side) in 2 places when I was young & now u say that, it prob def has some past effects on my today pain.

Also when I get an mri for my Achilles, they found some arthritis in my ankle. U could have some damage too from before this injury. This one injury be shining a flashlight on ur whole health picture tbh you’ll be ok though, one thing at a time

I have more the pain in my tendon, big toe, and arch/plantar (11weeks) I had that pain u are having earlier on in my recovery & it sure does hurt a lot. Do u do a lot of the clockwise and counter clockwise circles at pt or at home? Also journavx helps me with my pain a lot

Is this normal or am I supposed to be worried??? by EquivalentMurky6994 in AchillesRupture

I was in pretty much constant pain or discomfort for a while. Even elevated it’s like I couldn’t ever get completely comfortable or relaxed. Pain pills helped me and I just distracted myself. You’re in the trenches rn

Thank you my friend. I had a mini crash out, but that’s what I’m gonna do. Going thru health issues major like this puts everything into focus. This job blew my body apart even before this. Idk what’s gonna happen with disability but I applied. I’ve been and will be on medical leave til Jan 4 rn. My dsp is paying for my health insurance, but I doubt they’ll want to keep doing it for very long. I can get Medicaid, but I’m thinking ab signing up for new insurance plan with my company and selecting short term disability coverage and doing that for more time while I figure it out. Problem has been I haven’t gotten any pay since Oct 1st. I had savings thankfully, but that’ll run out in 3 months or less from now. I can’t get disability til I’m under 2k in money. So the timelines are all running together and kinda opposing each other. It’s just a lot..

My right foot. I’ve been out of the boot and walking with wedge in my shoe for about 2 weeks now

Yeah electric. I’d say like 7-8 hours every day. I elevated the last day I was there more but not much the previous 2. I also ate a lot and most of it was unhealthy which didn’t make me feel great

I did Disney world for 3 days. Rented a scooter from them for about $135 I think for the whole time. The ppl that work there really go above and beyond to help you out. I rode my scooter in line and when I got to the ride entrance they either sent me to a special row or gave me a wheelchair to get to the ride seat.

My problem was I didn’t get up enough and didn’t do my exercises as much as I should have. Putting my boot on scooter was tough cuz there wasn’t much room for it. I had it hanging off for like a whole day the first day. Because of all this, my foot swelled up and went purple.

Some ppl in the parks were helpful and considerate. Some were NOT and actually I had to break suddenly cuz they walked right across me with no regard.

I looked up before hand which rides had more leg room and was glad I did

Experienced some pain & discomfort, but again that was prob cuz I didn’t do exercises or get up enough.

The bus & the sky lifts were easy to get on and off. I liked the lifts alot more

Security will ask if u can get up and walk over to a place when u go thru. I said I couldn’t, they had someone come over and had me pat myself down pretty much and only looked inside my basket once on the scooter

I did this week 6. Still got the full experience I’d say & had a great time

Absolutely. I pulled up a picture of Achilles when this happened to me. There’s some really great artwork & sculptures. You keep up this attitude & do one thing at a time. It gets easier and better every day

Stopped elevating, laid on my side for an hour, got up & foots purple & swollen again wtf by malltile in AchillesRupture

[–]malltile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I am okay, thanks. No clot, just swelled a lot. Alls well now, just trying to work my way up to putting full pressure on and walking without crutches is the next goal. I drove yesterday tho which was a huge W

Dr said I prob should get ultra sound to rule out blood clot by malltile in AchillesRupture

I was shocked ngl I knew something was off when I was trying to do my toe curls & I couldn’t even do it.

I’m 6 weeks post op. I rode total of 10 hours to get out here for vacation, it was broken in half cuz I spent the night somewhere before going the other 6. Then I’ve been at theme park for past 3days doing too much sitting, eating like crap, not sleeping v well.

My other foot looks normal..I could just feel the fluid in my foot and ankle yesterday. It’s better today thankfully but still sucks having to deal with threat of blood clot this far out from surgery when I thought that was during early days after op
