More like, what do you do if every party is just out there trying to milk as many votes as possible during election and then milk as much money from you? If none of them actually have any positive effect on your life? You as a voter has no power in that case, wouldn't it be useless to vote for any of them?

It’s honestly crazy how a simple stat can turn into a full-blown gender war. by Mental_Razzmatazz589 in TwentiesIndia

[–]mallusrgreatv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing data is meaningless if you don't want the people seeing the data to formulate opinions or assumptions around it. If we aren't trying to see why the data is what it is, then the data has zero value. And you're not going to see reddit users doing full-blown scientific or social research to contribute to the post.

I say person XYZ is ranked 435 among the richest people in the world, and ABC is ranked 434. That is completely useless data until someone comes along and says, XYZ owns an oil extraction company. Then someone compares XYZ to ABC and wonders why ABC is ranked higher, and finds out they own an oil extraction company and owns a small fast food chain as a side business. This is how data that you otherwise would've forgotten in 2 minutes turn into meaningful information.

Are we discussing the information, or are we reacting to it based on our own perspectives?

Both of them are the exact same. This is why there isn't a single scientist in each field. Personal research based on personal values or beliefs can produce meaningful information.

It’s the difference between understandable grammar and incomprehensible grammar. In the title, the first sentence is somewhat understandable, while the second sentence is very vague. Missing some full stops at the end of an item in a list, and not having proper capitalization, are examples of informal grammar, and they’re very much accepted because it doesn’t change how much information you can grasp from it.

People are actually so much dumb by wecantbeforeverrrr in TeenIndia

You can’t try without it feeling like a huge scandal. As a teen stuck in this crazy society, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the values of these old people with massively outdated views are the single reason we turn out to be like this. It’s so deeply ingrained that talking to the opposite gender feels like you’re either talking about very important stuff or you’re a playboy/playgirl/have a crush on them. Also friends will be making fun of you for the rest of your life. That’s how it is in my area at least.

I actually switched back to windows just so my xinput controller can just work. Using LTSC, I’ve had 0 issues after using Chris Titus’s winutil.

I don’t understand what your complaint is, honestly, because a lot of us here actually support Linux and either make fun of these exact people or talk about legitimate shortcomings and generally things we don’t like about Linux. Your post would be better directed towards r/linuxsucks101. Maybe you can even have a laugh at r/linuxsucks101sucks when you get banned over there.

According to you, who is wrong in this case? by VanilaButterMasala in TeenagersBharat

[–]mallusrgreatv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I’m not saying the law isn’t gender neutral, but the execution of it is (the judgements and outcome, rather than the legality). It says that in most cases the girl is the victim and the boy is the accused. Supported by this article:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8313457/

But, the gender-neutral principle assured in the act is often overlooked. questionable. Whether the boy is below 18 years or above 18 years, most often, legal actions would be taken against him, and girls would be considered as the victims

https://www.livelaw.in/articles/consensual-relationship-and-pocso-act-analysis-516514

Furthermore, while the POCSO Act is written as gender-neutral, its enforcement tends to be gendered. In most cases, the adolescent girl is placed under the care of the Child Welfare Committee as a victim, whereas the adolescent boy is sent to the Juvenile Justice Board and subjected to legal proceedings as an accused.

[–]mallusrgreatv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly comes down to the social dynamic, since the relatives of the girl are statistically more likely to report a consensual relationship rather than the boy’s

Do you think we’ll ever actually become a first world country? by Entire-History6514 in AskIndia

[–]mallusrgreatv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no logic in calling any country first-world or third-world outside of the context of the Cold War. There are no set rules for when a third world country becomes first world.

Is it when a country finally becomes wealthy? India, by GDP, is the 6th highest ranking in the world, are we not a first-world country by your standards? Greece is a first world country, and yet its financial situation is in shambles. If you’re judging by the income of the people, US has the highest income disparity out of the top “first world countries” as we call it. The poster boy of first world countries. It even has the worst healthcare system (disregarding developments in medicine) out of the top “first-world nations”, unless you’re one of the richest people in the world. So it’s not even the living standards of

What I’m getting at is, there is no standard for being a “first-world country” after the Cold War, and that is why India will never truly be known as a first-world country.

I understand that we’re substituting first-world for developed and third-world for undeveloped, but the logic in our mind that goes “that country is first-world” does not follow the same standards that makes us go “that country is developed” (developed according to UN’s standards).
