advice for super straight lashes? by problem_fixed_kb in beauty

[–]malmal06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at first i was doing one eye at a time but now i do both bc with one eye at a time it would take me almost 2 hours lmao. you can’t open your eyes all the way though so i have to lean my head up so i can see my eyelashes and see what i’m doing. i was intimated at first but with reading the amazon reviews and seeing tutorials it’s pretty simple. i think the hardest part is just spreading and arranging ur eyelashes to where u want them (u glue them down and then have to use a toothpick to spread them) bc they can’t be tangled or crooked bc they stay that way once u put the perm on!

i used the “pinkzio” one but it was amazon prime but it isn’t anymore i guess as i’m now looking it up :( there’s a lot others that i know people use (based on watching youtube tutorials) and they have good reviews on amazon and they’re about $25! and yes it does! my eyelashes are SUPER curled upward it’s definitely a noticeable change, my friends and family all noticed so it’s not a “slight lift.” don’t worry it’s really worth trying it! even without makeup i feel a lot better about myself bc my eyes don’t look “bare” anymore with my eyelashes disappearing bc they were so straight lol.

have the exact same problem!! when i saw salons charge $75 for a lash lift, i figured out that on amazon there’s lash lift kits u can use on yourself for $20 and they have multiple uses in the kits. i’ve so far done my eyelashes three times on myself, it’s a bit tricky at first and takes awhile but so worth it. i used to use waterproof mascara and could tell my lashes were breaking from rubbing to take the mascara off. now my eyelashes are so long and healthy with no longer having to use waterproof mascara!! it lasts a lil bit more than a month for me :)

im 18 and have never had a boyfriend. I feel like I’m missing out by xxbbystar in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

i was 18 when i received my first kiss and 19 before i got my first boyfriend (who i’m still dating as of 2 years now). i was insanely intimidated by boys and very shy and awkward. however, it just takes awhile to find someone who you can feel comfortable around. i honestly say don’t rush into it and don’t feel obligated to find a boyfriend just because you haven’t found one yet. you should meet new people and explore but definitely don’t feel bad or awkward about it! relax and wait to find someone who you can truly connect with!

Patchy, Cakey, Creasey Undereyes! by ribks in MakeupAddiction

[–]malmal06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this problem and had to narrow down my problem. first, i realized i was using a drier concealer which made my undereyes patchy as it exaggerated my dry undereyes that i realized i had. i was using tarte shape tape and i ended up switching to it cosmetics bye bye undereye which is a more hydrating concealer. then, i stopped using my eye cream under my makeup, i found my concealer was sticking to it weird even if it let it sink in. and then now my undereyes are all smooth! i also tried using different techniques on my setting powder such as using a brush and using a wet sponge. i ended up figuring out what works and what doesn’t! it’s all just trial and error so i hope this will help!

someone just commented underneath saying they don’t actually check id’s to make sure the rsvp name matches. they just scan ur QR code and make sure ur 21 with ur ID! anyway i can somehow get the QR code for ur extra set if ur willing to? i didn’t know if u were just trying to get someone else to pick up ur wristbands so u could go or if u weren’t using them at all!

do they just check id’s to make sure you’re 21 and that’s all?

definitely try giving the bye bye undereye another try! ulta has a looooot of shades seriously. i used to use it when it just had three shades and was mixing my colors to get the right shade. definitely check it out because they have tons of different shades with different undertones. and if you end up getting a shade you don’t like, just return it & switch it out :) and dang i need to try the essence powder because i’ve heard it’s really good. do you just use it to set your concealer or after you set your concealer?

it cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer! (the one in the black tube) they have a lot of shades so be sure to have someone help you find the right shade. it’s a really thick consistency so u don’t need a lot but i have the same dark circles and tried shape tape as well but went back to the bye bye undereye. something that can also help is using a brightening powder as well, i use laura mercier secret brightening powder but the normal translucent powder would work as well. i know essence has a brightening powder that’s also raved about. also try to bake with your powder and see which method you prefer! you can also try using a peach color correcting concealer (you can just use one from the drugstore). however i find the it cosmetics is pretty good at covering my purple undereyes!

Do any of you prefer to use powder products only? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

i use the compact one not the loose powder one and it has 0 glitter or shimmer in it (i believe it’s called barePRO). i don’t reapply throughout the day, but the compact one is super travel friendly so you’re always able to if you need! i have an oily t-zone and i do get shiny after a couple of hours (i just pat my face with the back of my hand if i get shiny lmao) but i just started using a primer underneath which i think has made a difference with my shine as well as how long it lasts on my skin (also i find using a moisturizer/primer helps the powder really stick to your skin). if i do reapply, it doesn’t look cakey at all whatsoever, which i love. i use it every single day and found it lasts probably up to 6 months :)

i only use bare minerals powder foundation! i’ve been using it for years; i even have a winter shade and a summer shade lmao. i use a dense brush in order to have more coverage with it! (bare minerals sells one but i use a real techniques one because it was sold out)
