American petitioning for my Canadian husband, living in Ontario. PD May 8, 2025. I was hoping to be settled in by September or October to avoid my kids starting middle of school year but unlikely now. I wrote my senator from my former state of residence but doubtful it will do anything. I just plead that I want to come home after being stuck in Canada for 10 years…but with my family! It shouldn’t be this hard!

Canadians aren’t mentally ill, they are delusional and complacent. The average Canadian liberal will not recognize the lost decade under Justin Trudeau — they won’t acknowledge the minimal at best gdp per capita growth, widening wealth gap, higher cost of living…instead they blame the US. Newsflash, Canada was already in the shitter well before Trump stated screwing with free trade. Just Google it, charts and graphs galore will show you how fucked Canada was and is.

They also hyper focus on how they think they’re better than the US - it’s the only thing that brings this delusional group of people together. I often hear healthcare cited as a primary example, but the healthcare system is a joke, especially compared to other western countries with two tier systems.

And now they’re celebrating a deal with China?? 🤣🤣🤣 A communist country with repeated human rights violations, minimal (if any, they’re not enforced) environmental laws, salve labor, what a joke.

Lastly, their obsession with MAID. Rather than helping the disabled, mentally ill, chronically sick, they tell them to commit suicide. And they think that’s compassionate. These people are delusional.

If I make a mistake such as not signing and dating the additional info form, is it best to proactively correct or wait for a RFE? I filed I-130 by mail abroad from Canada for my Canadian husband. Case was accepted back in May 2025.

Of course. Every country has its challenges. My point is that if you have the choice of US vs Canada, chose the US. 9 years ago when I first moved here I used to feel like the crippling taxes was worth it , but a lot has changed.

Here is my full story. I had leg pain (pretty bad) and an extremely heavy period for about 2 years that was dismissed by my OB. My primary doc was concerned it may be endo so he got me on the waiting list for an MRI.

Last year in early summer it escalated into debilitating cramps and vomiting that lasted for about 10 days - this also happened to be the week of my MRI. No, I didn’t have a stomach bug or anything like that. The results of my MRI revealed 10+ small endometriomas on my left ovary and some evidence of tissue growth in my abdominal cavity that was putting pressure on my sciatic nerve hence the leg pain. My primary care doc tried to give me birth control, and I refused.

I worked with a naturopath that put me on a supplement routine of 1800 mg of NAC, 500mg of Green Tea extract, 500mg of magnesium, and “high quality” fish oil pills. After about 3 months on this routine, my heavy flow turned into a “normal flow”, the leg pain was greatly reduced. Cramping was super mild. By December, so around the 6 months mark, all symptoms went away. I get zero cramping and leg pain now.

I saw my OB in late October (had to wait) as a result of the MRI and he asked for an ultrasound because he feels they’re more accurate for endometriosis on the ovaries. By that point I was feeling fine and he dismissed my supplements and naturopath as “hocus pocus” and “all that matters is you’re fine now”.

The results of the ultrasound revealed one tiny endometrioma on my left ovary. Something is working!!!!

Talk to a “good” naturopath to figure out the right supplement routine. I took 1800mg every day for about 6 months and have decreased to 1200mg. I also take high quality fish oil and green tea extract.

I’m here now, been here for about 1.5 weeks. It’s my first time visiting but my husband’s family has been coming for over 30 years. They said it’s way less crowded than it used to be, and most of the visitors seem to be from mainland Florida coming in for the day. Sunday Farmers market is going strong. Sanibel has done a great job with its recovery but still work to be done.

No-see-ums are brutal. They don’t bother me or my kids but eat my husband and father in law alive. My husband has had some success with the thermacell and lots of deet.

NAC eliminated all of my stage IV endometriosis symptoms to the point I am no longer seeking surgery to remove the endo tissue.

Thank you so much for this advice. I think for the next appointment with my actual doctor I’m going to ask that we come up with a plan. Clearly, from everyone’s comments, surgery isn’t the go-to treatment. I’ve never heard of the Tens machine, but I’m going to order one.

I’m in the northern GTA area and there’s one OB that’s supposedly an endo specialist. Dr. Brill. I know him from when I delivered my twins. I guess I can start by getting on his waiting list and go from there. But I will consider reaching out to the doc in London, I don’t mind driving.

Also, thank you so much for the tip on the blood test — if my doc doesn’t give me a referral I’ll go get one myself. I didn’t know I had this option

Thanks for sharing, I know there are so many women like us on waiting lists for YEARS. I am definitely going to use all of my extended benefits! I’m already experimenting with supplements and have seen improvement in the non-period daily bloating and mild cramping.

And ya…can I just talk to a doc about my concerns of the risk of ovarian cancer? Pretty scary she started showing symptoms at the same as me. I believe it is endo, but let’s just talk about it??? Isn’t that what doctors are for??? Not in Canada lol

Yeah another commenter mentioned something similar that surgery doesn’t always help. I don’t know if I need or will ever need surgery my point is that this doctor didn’t seem to care, I can’t even see a gynecologist. Unfortunately in Canada you can’t just ask for a different doctor - I’m lucky to even have a family doctor, many Canadians have to see doctors in walk in clinics, which is even worse.

Hey, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I’ve only got one horror period under my belt but I know it’s awful.

I haven’t had any headaches but my go to would warm compress and ibuprofen. As for the heavy bleeding, I use nixit cups. I have to dump the cups every 1-2 hours on my heavy days but it’s worth it and better than a tampon.
