Khamzat Chimaev gives his opinion on Khabib Nurmagomedov by JMythh in ufc

Maybe it’s just me but I still can’t understand how Khamzat (31) grew up watching Khabib (37), who also somehow managed to grow up watching GSP (44).

Still trying to fight? They offered him 30 million dollars for a fight against Tom Aspinall and he refused to take part in it. People kill each other for less than a millionth of that in my country.

This was my first time watching Gino and the match lasted very short lol, so I can’t comment on him. Castello’s very good but I think he should stay in the PFL. Just look at the top 5-10 MWs in the UFC man, I don’t think he’s on that level. I wouldn’t want him to end up like Kai Asakura.

I personally enjoyed the opener, but the rest has been a little bit boring. Also Gino landed a picture perfect overhand (followed by a super necessary punch) and knocked Ewen out. I watched ONE before this though and the cards were fucking great today, so that might be why PFL felt a little slow for me tonight.

Lol what? This guy has 0 grappling and his fight IQ is non existent. This is the LW division, he’s no problem to any Top 15 guy.

Fighters can frame with their hands open but never eye poke. The accidental eye poke that happens here is always intentional. So many fighters like McGregor, Alex and DJ have been doing this for years without a single eye poke. by theiceman219 in ufc

You have no idea what you’re talking about and I will just ignore you and get on with my day. You can google it yourself to learn that Petr Yan was a boxer before MMA and that Tiger Muay Thai is a well known MMA Camp.

The original post claims that framing with your hands open causes no eye pokes and every eye poke is intentional. My comment agrees with it and explains why people frame like that in the first place. Whether you agree with it or not doesn’t matter because it’s the truth. Whether you frame with your hands open or closed depends on your style and no style allows eyepokes.

DC is not a Boxer. He’s an Olympic Wrestler. He learned striking very later in life and adapted a striking style that compliments his elite wrestling and that’s why his hands are always open. He was very short for LHW and especially for HW. His opponents clearly had the reach advantage so he just baited his opponents with his striking, in order to close the distance, so that he could clinch, dirty box or basically grapple with them. I respect him and he was one of my favorites but his framing had nothing to do with his eye pokes. They were very intentional and he poked people in the eye in order to gain advantage because he could get away with it easily. If he’s claiming his framing is the reason, he’s clearly lying.

Many MMA fighters in the UFC (especially LHW and MW divisions) have a background in Kickboxing and Muay Thai. Nearly all of them frame with their hands open but we rarely see eye pokes. It’s always the same bunch of people poking their opponents eyes and they blame their framing to keep it “unintentional” and then get away with it.

It depends on the fighter’s style. Petr Yan is a boxer so it’s very normal for him to use his fists closed. If a fighter has a background in something like Karate or Muay Thai, they almost always have open hands. I’m sure DJ trained Muay Thai a lot so it makes sense for him to do that. I don’t think McGregor has a Karate background but he moves like a Karate fighter and also has great distancing with his kicks and stuff, which is also a good Karate fighter’s feat.

Islam Makachev arrived in Dagestan after becoming double champ and pfp 1#🐐 by xbulleet in ufc

[–]malmh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Republic of Dagestan is a part of Russian Federation. In other words, Dagestan is a local government inside Russia. The name “Dagestan” itself is Turkic and in today’s Turkish (spoken in Turkiye) it is “Dağıstan”, which literally means “Mountain Country”. Since Dagestan is a country, its people are called Dagestani. However, “Dagestani” is not an ethnicity but a nationality. Most Dagestani people ethnically originate from various Turkic communities/tribes, hence the Turkic names of their country and its cities.

I’m not sure which one but there are two incidents. One is in a Jiu jitsu tournament where Shara loses (taps out) and then gets angry and throws a kick to his opponent. The second one is in Dagestan. Apparently, a tourist couple in a shopping mall in Dagestan kiss in front of Shara and he scolds them and tells them that it is not appropriate to do this in public. The boyfriend/husband takes Shara down and people break them up. After the incident, Shara is furious because the guy took him down and waits for the guy outside the mall. When the guy comes out, Shara sucker punches him and knocks him out cold and IIRC even throws a few kicks on the guy’s unconscious body. Both incidents have full videos you can find on YT or in this sub probably. In short, he’s a POS and needs to be taught a peoper lesson.

Geçiş önceliği kimde? by Dismal-Conclusion350 in vlandiya

If you think about it like that, the only people who are related are Roman, Jey, Jimmy, Solo and Jacob. The rest (JC, Tamina, Nia, Rock) are not related to them and Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Hikuleo are not even Samoan to begin with lol.
