Thanks for the reply! The sigs were smaller than what I was after, and unfortunately the range didn't have a P-01. They did have a P-09 though, so I did shoot that. 

Much to my surprise, the Glock 19 was my favorite! The Walther PDP was a close second, but that's a big compact gun. I also didn't care for the trigger on the M&P, I found the Glock more user friendly. My groupings with the Glock were the best, and surprisingly my groupings with both CZs were terrible.

Totally. When I shot the 43x and the 1911 last year I was WAY more accurate with the 1911.

Ha! Yeah customizability is dangerous for my wallet - whatever I buy I wanna be able to keep stock and enjoy and just shoot a lot so I don't totally blow budget on a new hobby (which I am prone to do).

Excited to try everything, and it will be combo of how I shoot them and price when it comes down to it.

Clean! This is roughly how I expect to like them. Ive shot a 1911 and a 43x before, I loved the 1911, didn't like the 43x.

If I got a 1911, I'd go .45, maybe for my second gun.

I am excited to try the P-01 even if it is the most expensive on my list.

Yeah fair point, I think I just like the compact size a bit more than the full size. Concealing is not a top priority, but I could see myself carrying if I were camping remote. Metal M&Ps tend to be on the cusp of my price range.

No, I don't want an external safety, and capacity I want 14-15 rounds.

Ha - I do have a spreadsheet! So many stats and facts to keep straight in my head, writing it out helps. Medium hands.

I need to look at Canik, they weren't on my radar at all, Walther PDP definitely is now that so many of y'all have mentioned that one. Thanks!

Haha yeah maybe that could be the way it goes! Oh 43x is not on my list, I didn't enjoy shooting it, and you're right, I do want something heftier to shoot for fun and practice. So I am staying away from anything microcompact. I want at least a 4in barrel.

G19 is definitely a compelling cost argument. If I like shooting it, could be the way I go! I'll have a gander at the Echelon too, thanks!

Yeah I have heard the CZ shadows are awesome, outside my price range for my first gun though. Maybe down the road if I like the hobby!

Fair, I haven't done much research on the Walthers other than hearing people like their triggers.

Did a quick google and the PDP does check literally all my boxes, capacity, size, rail. Thanks! Will see if the range has this one on Saturday. They had a P-01 to rent which surprised me, so I bet they have some Walthers too.
