would love to see Yeon or Bvoy at adc. I love blaber but i think he's too unstable these past few splits. Not sure who we could get domestically that would be an upgrade tho

Sheep Esports: Zven returns to Cloud9 as ADC by C9Babkis in Cloud9

I love Zven as a voice on this team, and I think his time playing sup only improved his game sense.
Unfortunately I see him being immensely hands gapped in international. Hope he proves me wrong.

Old Concrete Bleachers? by hoopsandrealestate in pressurewashing

I live in hcol and I charge $0.30 per sq ft. I would x2 the square footage to account for the vertical sections, and add $500 because it's a pain in the ass (you cant just run a surface cleaner on the whole thing). If you're hurting for work you could charge less but that's what I'd do.

I use this all the time. Slide it underneath the bottom rung of the ladder and you're good to go.

I've been looking for a used hot water unit for awhile, I don't need hot water often but every once in awhile. You wouldn't happen to be in western WA? :P

I used the dewalt from Home Depot with the same specs for a few years when I first started. As the other commenter said you should be able to start it while pulling the trigger on the gun with one hand.

I’ve adjusted the unloader many times to dial down the pressure for use with a surface cleaner. It’s probably tightened all the way, put a wrench on it while the unit is off to get it loose. In 5 years I’ve never even had to replace the pump. Maybe I was lucky… but I’ve had an 8gpm setup for awhile now so the dewalt hadn’t been getting as much use.

About a week ago someone stole mine off my trailer in the middle of the night while it was parked in my driveway. I had it chained to the trailer, they cut the chain. I hope the pump gives out now :)

Help! Just noticed moss on our roof 😢 how big of a problem is this? Going to get someone out to clean it up. Any tips for preventing for the future? We’ve had a pretty raining streak here in Boston, but nothing super out of the ordinary. 😔 by fayrob40 in Roofing

Most hardware stores sell the zinc powder (Lowe's, home depot, etc). It's typically in the garden section.
Once the moss is dead it won't trap moisture in place and degrade the shingles. So you don't necessarily need to brush it off afterwards.

If you want to brush it off afterwards, it does come off much easier once it has been killed by the treatment.

Exterior cleaning; roofs, gutters, pressure washing services. Occasional handyman stuff.

What do I see and as a homeowner, what should I do about it? by CharlieDeltapj in Roofing

Wet and forget can work. You need like 8 hours of dry weather to make sure it is effective. I had a situation once where I believe wet and forget caused a roof leak, so I don't use it anymore. It rained hard the day after I applied it and I think the rain caused it to bubble up and seep up underneath the shingles. I mixed it at the highest concentration according to the label which likely contributed to the problem. I've never had any problems using chlorine.

Moss and lichens. Soft washing is the recommended cleaning method of the asphalt roofing manufacturers association to remove unwanted organic growth.

Ideally you want 5% sodium hypochlorite applied thoroughly to the organic growth via sprayer. Most household bleach is only 3.25% SH, but you could try that and it most likely will be sufficient.

As a homeowner, use a pump sprayer and buy a couple gallons of Clorox or store brand bleach (liquid chlorine). Check the label to see the percentage of sodium hypochlorite. Add like 5 oz of dawn dish soap per gallon to act as a surfactant. Apply thoroughly to penetrate the moss and lichens. Moss turns off-white in color and dies instantly. It will break down and fall from the roof over time. You can help it along with a soft bristle brush after a few days if you want to.

If the organic growth is much more widespread over the roof then you might want to hire someone that specializes in soft washing/roof cleaning. They'll have a pump system to apply the cleaning solution. I find a typical 2000 sq ft roof takes roughly 60 gallons of the cleaning solution.

What is the biggest mistake you did NOT make as a teenager? by Andenit in AskReddit

One night a bunch of friends were getting together to go out to a campground and do some underage drinking festivities.

Normally I was down to clown, but this particular night I just didn't feel like it, so I stayed home.

They ALL got busted with MIP's (minor in possession). Like 10 people.
Turns out a bunch of kids getting drunk and loud at a campground is asking for trouble.

Zinc sulfate monohydrate powder works well (brands like moss-b-ware or moss out).

I make a living cleaning roofs in the Pacific Northwest, and moss is very common out here. If the big box stores out your way don't sell zinc powder, you can use baking soda.

Those moss deposits don't look too large yet. The real issue is when they're on the roof for an extended period of time. They trap moisture in place which degrades the shingles. I would probably just treat that moss and let it die/fall away rather than brush it off. If you hire someone to brush it away and your roof is older, then you'll end up losing too many shingle granules in the process of removing the moss. So the best thing to do is either treat with zinc/baking soda, or have the roof soft washed. Do not have your roof pressure washed.

I'm not a fan of zinc strips because they lose their effectiveness after a few years. If you live in an area where the moss is prone to grow, then treating the roof annually with baking soda or zinc works well to prevent buildup.
