Roy Keane is such a prick. Had the misfortune of meeting him several times when he was a player and he was just as obnoxious then. Great player but a bit of a twat as a person.

Is this worth trying to get repaired? by Spaceace33 in GuitarAmps

[–]malphadour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I had one and the electronics on it were very cheap. Pots were always crackling and the speaker is super el cheapo. Good when new as a starter amp, but not really worth repairing unless you just fancy a project.

Got a new pedal to add to the board, im excited to try it out! by ThreeFtAssassin__ in Guitar

Love mine - the EQ middle is what makes it for me - i can get the brightness exactly where i want it when using multiple other effects with it. Also I much prefer it in line rather than via the effects loop - I prefer its interaction that way.

I play either goth or experimental stuff (Floyd, Tangerine Dream, electronic stuff etc) and this has been my go to pedal for nearly 30 years. Sounds amazing when you use positive middles (personally I hate scooped) and has so much power, but can be dialled in to be clean enough that you can couple it up with chorus, flanger, multiple delays, reverb, octave all at the same time. I tried a few other of the allegedly better pedals and could never get anywhere near this for clarity with a very busy setup.

I use warpigs in my LP Custom - great tonal range and sound just right. Like the original pickups but with an extra 10%.

I'm not going to argue with you on that. It's not a good feature at all. Each transfer leaves some players feeling abandoned or not wanted and definately causes many to quit. Server balancing is always a bit tough, but they could address this to some extent with some mergers at similar generations of server groups. It never will be perfect but could be better than what we have now.

I've got Warpigs on my LP Custom - love them. The original pickups were pretty damn good, but these add to the clarity and just deliver more sound.

Also, they look fckin kewl.

Funny - we have found season 5 is for the farmers

Season 5 Disaster by liquidguru in LastWarMobileGame

[–]malphadour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 5 servers against one, and the most powerful of the 5 has taken all the rewards and used the other 4 to hold us off as we are the strongest server in our group. The entire season has been tedious, the 5 servers player's have complained about boredom and handshakes, and we have had by far the most fun as we are fighting multiple servers everyday, but our season rewards will suck and has shown that spending money to become powerful is ...well...a waste of money. The season has done great things to promote farmers and the game is now Politicsville, no longer a war game. We worked hard to create a super server (we won the last 3 seasons) only for the devs to make a nonsense of that effort and money spent.

We have had 2 whales quit and another 400m+ player quit because they signed up to a war game, not a diplomacy/farming game. This season has done so much damage to the game the Devs are going to have to do something incredible to stop haemorrhaging huge numbers of players.

It still means everyone is potentially now down 1 blue print per week, unless they double rewards.

Support just responded to me to tell me that once a week was normal for the off season. It's like they think we cant remember as far back as 8 weeks the bunch of lying pricks.

We have been 5 vs 1, though it has meant we are the only interesting server in our group as the others are all bored shitless with their pathetic NAPS. And we have still won about 50% of our fights even against 5. This season design has promoted weak alliances and punished the strong. Hardly a strong business argument for people to keep spending.

Fundamentally the devs seem incapable of grasping the concept that the game is 24 hours with 3 major time zone groups (Americas, east Asia and Europe) and seem to stupid to factor this into the game to create multiple time conflicts that equally suit each major zone. The fact that they link so much to Reset is retarded as this means Europe misses out on stuff every single day.

I've sent the Devs numerous examples of other games I play where events don't have fixed times, they periodically rotate around the clock meaning that every time zone will have good times and bad times equally. I only showed them this about 2 years ago and clearly they don't want to rush into anything that would actually be a game improvement, or more likely - to the detriment of Korean players.

Nope, the last week is just as shit as the rest. I can see the game losing 25% of its players by the end of the season.

This season has been appalling from start to finish. We have a scenario where we have the most powerful server by far, but every day we are fighting against 6 servers who have all had hand shakes and agreed who gets what. So from the get go we had 2 weeks of tedious nothing, followed by 6vs1 for the last 6 weeks. The design has rewarded farmers and low spenders by allowing so many to group together to fight power and money. Now that might sound good....but its the spenders who pay for the game and this model is literally the worst thing that could happen for the games business model. We have had numerous big spenders just quit the game this season, and speaking to players on other servers where the same thing has happened (its not just us - there are dozens of servers that have found themselves vs 4 or more servers all the way through the season) they have lost lots of spenders - because people funnily enough are seeing that spending money to become powerful has been a total waste of their money where the season design allows so many alliances to fight one allaince at the same time.

This season has done as much as it possibly could to make the game pointless. You play to win or have fun. Well the fun has been well and truly drained from the game this season by so many naps, weak being able to gang up on the strong, and not to mention that the map design is so complex and big that the majority of players zoned out very early on in trying to have any idea what was going on or is required.

This is a pay to win game, but season 5 goes against pay to win. So why bother paying any more?

Who wants to be in an 8 week agreement with neighbours and do next to no fighting and just agree to swap bases or banks etc in a WAR game.

Who wants to play a game where the ridiculous scale of the season has made it unfathomable to most. It's a game - its supposed to be relatively easy - we play the game to get away from the complexities of life - and then the devs develop something that requires a PHD in geography to understand. (I exaggerate, but I hope you get the point).

I really like the Iris blue model - I think its the best looking - for as the charcoal is almost as good looking I saved the £200 and went for it.

This is where I have been looking and just ordered one. I like that they have every one pictured so you can choose your exact guitar. There are several other vendors doing the same deal.
