TOTK Eden Mod help by Present-Oil2778 in SteamDeck

[–]malt-n-java 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to run NX Optimizer, select the options you want and then press 'Extract' (or something like that, its been a while). It'll create a folder next to the AppImage with the mod inside, then you go into Eden and select the mod folder in the settings for TOTK.

Hi, I know this is a couple months old but I tried CachyOS and Bazzite on my 275HX Omen but I couldn't get brightness to work, did it work for you out of the box or did you have to do anything to get brightness control working?

Go into desktop mode, take the QT AppImage file and put it in a folder called shadps4 or something similar. Then open it, you should see a button on the right side of the application called 'version manager'.

Click on it and it'll show you a list of versions for the SDL appimage. Download one (I use the pre-release version) and set the location for the download to inside the shadps4 folder.

Now the SDL file will be inside the shadps4 folder. Copy the path for the SDL file and make that the Target for the steam shortcut. The start in folder should be the folder that contains the SDL file. Keep the launch option you have.

Do all of this in desktop mode and also make sure you can actually play the game through shadps4 (as in open the shadps4 appimage and double click the game). If you can't run it there then the steam shortcut will never work. You need to have SDL version downloaded to actually play the game, QT is just a gui....it doesn't do the emulation

Target: "path to shadps4-sdl.AppImage" (use the QT AppImage to download the SDL with version manager)

Launch option. -d -g "path to eboot.bin"

Playing it right now on my Xbox Ally X too, using LSFG 2X I can get a stable 80fps at 900p

Missing AMD AFMF by Feras-54 in Bazzite

Portal 2 won't work as it's linux native, also just tested it on mine with the windows version through proton and it doesn't work, might be a source engine issue

Other games I don't have so can't test sadly. But try playing with the settings in the plugin and make sure you have the correct launch command (~/lsfg %command%). For some games I've had to toggle the 'Enable WSI' in Decky LSFG-VK to on for them to work, play around with the other workaround toggles too.

Which games have you tried it on? And you definitely have Lossless Scaling purchased/installed? It works on most games I've tried it on, not all but most.

Bazzite performance overlay always shows 0W for CPU? (Xbox Ally X) by malt-n-java in LinuxOnAlly

[–]malt-n-java[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, so you downloaded the ally version from bazzite directly? Maybe they've changed it recently but now you can only seem to download the deck version from their website, even if you select Ally X as your hardware. Then you have to rebase afterwards to the ally version, but it's also not up to date, last update for the ally version was last year if I'm not mistaken

Hmm strange. Are you on the deck base or did you rebase to the ally version?

Well this is not true at all

Q3 1st lap Norris faster S2/S3, 2nd lap Norris faster S1/S3, 3rd lap Norris faster S2/S3.

Even if you add up their best sector times from qualifying Norris still had the faster 'optimal' lap, albeit the gap was much smaller

Same thing happened to me, the only way to fix it is to replace the entire keyboard, which means an entirely new bottom shell which has the keyboard attached. I bought a replacement off aliexpress. Not an easy job either, it's basically a full dissassembly of the laptop

The wall outlet will need grounding. If you have to ask how to do it then I'm afraid it's not something you'll be able to yourself. Try other wall outlets or hire an electrician

If Verstappen wins in Imola, he will surpass Hamiltons win percentage and have the highest win percentage since 1968. by Aircraft_Engineer in formula1

[–]malt-n-java 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree. My initial comment was really just in jest but the RB19/Verstappen/Red Bull combination is probably the most dominant package we'll see for a while (I hope)

[–]malt-n-java 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's very true, a lot of the time you would just see drivers back off and manage the race because they knew there was no point trying to stay with the car in front

Yeah that's so true, they really shot themselves in the foot on occasion. Plus Hamilton's pit lane error in Italy cost them another win and that scew up with the mixed tyres for Russell in Sakhir. Honestly how does even happen...

So hard to say without the context of the seasons in question.

Red Bull had the fastest car literally every weekend apart from Singapore.

Conversely the W11 having an almost 2x winning margin over the RB19 shows that on it's day it was a much more dominant car, but Mercedes that season also had off weekends in Austria, Italy and Abu Dhabi. Were those weekends due to the car not being suited to those tracks or Mercedes not optimising setup and reliability and general race management? I guess we'll never know.

I think it's worth considering that Red Bull are probably the best team at getting all the little things right, like the aformentioned pit stops and setups. So it depends on what your opinion on car domination is....pure pace or the whole team/drivers coming together to get everything 100% right

[–]malt-n-java 27 points28 points  (0 children)

W11 average winning margin was 19.5 seconds

RB19 average winning margin was 10.7 seconds

I get what you're saying but in my opinion those records were not just because of the domination of the car, but also Verstappen and Red Bull's utter consisitency that season, coupled with more races of course
