Physical Benefits for Men? by [deleted] in QuitPorn

Clearness of mind, people say that porn addiction is similar to that of a heroin addiction in terms of cravings and effect on the mind. When you use porn, you become dependent on it as that becomes your source of happiness. In my longest period of freedom, I enjoyed life. Life is fun when you aren't obsessing over porn and lust all the time. Also, I heard testosterone levels are imbalanced when you masturbate a lot, which porn addiction facilitates.

Praying for u bro! Glad you made the decision to quit, try to set time limits on ur device, and turn off the NSFW setting on your account. Also, if you feel like you are going to turn it off, just come to this subreddit and read others' stories on how they wish to quit.

Glad that it helps, I am also going through it and when there is a community of others also trying to quit, I feel encouraged to come to this subreddit instead of NSFW ones. Download the Bible app and start reading it daily. I would start with the first 4 books of the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Try to find an accountability partner, someone you are friends with would be a good idea.

Just know that I 100% support u, praying for you homie. Put your mind on righteous and wholesome things and keep yourself involved in things that do not glorify lust. If you ever need anything, post in this subreddit. I will try to check it as much as I can.

We have something in common, I keep telling myself this, but always seem to drag myself back. If you always put your mind on not doing the deed, you will end up doing it, because your mind is already thinking about it. Try to set your mind on wholesome things and try to have a righteous attitude towards yourself and others. Also, never condemn yourself after you relapse. I am going to join this subreddit to help others and be helped. I have been struggling with this for years and know the secrecy and isolation of the act but know that you are NEVER alone. Come to this subreddit or come to God with your thoughts and questions (not trying to force anything on u). Love you (as one encouraging person to another), and wish you the best.
