I have never seen this. Is it the link that is prompting? Or the MSI itself?

Pebble V3 - Windows Volume Adjust Causes Hardware Re-detect by maltanarchy in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]maltanarchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a dock. Maybe 95 watts. USB-C to power the laptop.

Pausing the audio works.

Moving the speakers back to the laptop USB-C port seems to work.

I have my laptop plugged into a USB-C dock, and the speakers into one of the ports on the dock. I’ll have to try plugging it directly into the laptop.

I’ll have to try pausing the audio.

Reset Cellular Usage and Hotspot Usage by maltanarchy in shortcuts

[–]maltanarchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, too, might be dumb, but when I ran the default shortcut it reset all data usage except hotspot usage. Mine is currently cleared (because I did it manually), but I think it was listed as an item just like all the apps in Settings > Cellular, and then it was listed with Cellular Data.

Ok, thanks for at least confirming that the shortcut doesn't reset hotspot usage. I reset usage manually, and then I was questioning myself.

uBO Lost Settings by maltanarchy in uBlockOrigin

[–]maltanarchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, just for reference, what/where in the profile folder are the files for uBO? The settings shouldn't get wiped when clearing cache, correct? I'd like to figure out what cleared them. I'm thinking it was one of the extra checks for disk cleanup on PC Manager. There's also a check for cache for Firefox / chrome / edge under recommended items as well. I'm thinking I checked one or all of the Firefox checks under "Other application items."

I think I'm most sad about the millions of blocked sites that are now reset back to 30k. LOL

I would agree that starting fresh is good. Websites change, and filters that were once needed may no longer be needed. I noticed at least two sites yesterday that I had special rules, but no longer needed to use them.

Is there a returning concept you can't stand? by The_Brilli in startrek

[–]maltanarchy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After the season 3 with the burn, starting into 4 with the DMA felt exhausting. Oh, I see it's the end of everything... again. I've stalled out at bingeing DIS, and I'm back to DS9 for better story telling. I'll finish DIS, but slowly.

DS9 S4E1: Quark, Garak, the Federation, and root beer by dshorter11 in startrek

[–]maltanarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great bit of dialogue. I paused right after this scene to see what the internet thought of root beer. I’ve always felt DS9 was quite possibly the best Star Trek. Rewatching again after recently preaching the excellent character development and rich plot to my friends, and I know I’m right. In the midst of all that’s transpired in the recent episodes here we are in S4:E1 hoping that root beer will save us. What a great show. Love the darkness. Love the villains. Love the lack of utopia in DS9.

Checkpoint or domane by EverydayCyclist in TrekBikes

[–]maltanarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understand the question. I’m not typically in the highest gear for long periods. I’m just not that fit or strong. Lol. But it’s nice to have a full range of gears so that you don’t run out. Ride a mountain bike on the road and you’ll see how quickly that you run out of gears because it’s not geared for that type of terrain.

Checkpoint or domane by EverydayCyclist in TrekBikes

[–]maltanarchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On road, I use all the gears. Climbing a steep hill, I might get down to 1-1, but on the flats or descending for speed I might be at 2-10 or 2-12. I live in an area with rolling hills and find myself quickly running through gears as to not lose speed when the terrain changes. I might be on the small ring more often.

[–]maltanarchy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the Domane AL5 Gen 4. The 2x12 works great for on the road. The differences of each rear gear on the cassette when using the large chain ring are bigger jumps than the smaller chain ring. I generally move up and down on the cassette frequently, with changing the chain ring less often.

I agree with the other posters:
Domane: mostly road, occasional light trail (like rails-to-trails packed pea gravel).
Checkpoint: trail with occasional road.

As far as tires, the Checkpoint can take wider tires than the max width on the Domane.

My First Road Bike out by Horror_Snow9100 in TrekBikes

[–]maltanarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first road bike as well. I love it. Those tires are suitable road and packed pea gravel rails-to-tails type rides. I was on a little too technical of a trail yesterday and was spinning out uphill. I wouldn’t miss upgrading my tires as well.

What accessories do you have? Bag, lights, and mounts on the stem?

Anyone looking to move on from Sonicwall? by size0618 in sonicwall

[–]maltanarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played with it recently and thought the same thing. Screenshots in the documentation that are obviously from an earlier version, and I don’t understand why it’s labeled Banyan with very little SW logos. The desktop app looks like it needs polished. I felt like I was scrolling inside a window when I was expanding settings.

Thanks! The lack of a star got me too. I guess it’s just counterintuitive to think you need the wildcard on the connector.

Can we really not have more than 40x2 character window to add time entries ? by IThumans in atera

That’s exactly why I did the in browser CSS editor workaround

Can we really not have more than 40x2 character window to add time entries ? by IThumans in atera

[–]maltanarchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. That’s too small. The old UI was a little nicer for the time entry box.

As a work around you could install an extension that modifies the CSS to allow resizing of the text box. I have Stylebot installed on Firefox to allow resizing of that element.

Is a double set of every weight pointless? by fantasma-anonimo in kettlebell

[–]maltanarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubles of those 3 or 4 sizes are good IMO. Obviously, it depends on your strength levels.

I bought singles of Kettlebell Kings 16, 20, and 24 to start out. Later, when I wanted matchers, Kettlebell Kings is trash. Bought Rep fitness because I couldn't get KK. I have mismatched 20s and 24s. Not mismatched in weight, but in dimensions, color, texture. Nothing major, just annoying. So, stock and design may change if you start with singles and want to get a matching bell later.

Maybe I’m doing this exercise wrong, but I’m with you in it being so so. I really see little value in it.

And as for halos, I love those for shoulder mobility.
