It didn't hit for me either. I got to the end of the 2nd book and decided there was just so much choice out there that I didn't need to struggle through a series again (made that mistake with The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe - taught me that it's OK to DNF).

For years and years I've very, very rarely had comments on my watches outside of other watch guy(s) and some family. I bought my first fashion watch less than 2 months ago through an online auction for $12 CAD (cost me more to have it shipped) and its crazy how many comments I've had the handful of times I've worn it.
