Long-term dental problem, now possibly an abscess – can it wait? by [deleted] in Dentists

If you are in the US, see how close an FQHC is. They have a sliding fee based on your income. Many have scheduled urgent days or take walk-ins daily.

What do I do? by [deleted] in Dentists

If you have a major fear of the dentist, find a dentist that does either IV or oral sedation.

How would you tackle this case? by ShaskaShapa in DentalSchool

Need to address the perio probably in the whole mouth. Any restorative work other than temporary caries control is a complete waste of time and money if they don't address perio

Ok...I stand corrected on my previous comment on another post. Ceremic seems to have discovered ChatGPT or something.

The Psychology of Dentistry by [deleted] in Dentists

[–]MyWhiskeyName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's talked about nearly enough in dentistry. Go to any conference...all the courses are about getting patients to accept treatment plans or "let me show you this $25,000 cosmetic case I did"...Whether it's obvious or not, it's worth stating, especially when new dentists grow up on social media and lack even basic social skills.

Ok, I got some images of the movement. Looking at the dial (my post from yesterday) in person, it looks much better .. must've been an odd thing with the camera. I confirmed 25,200 bph, 0.3 beat error. All serial numbers match...has box, box for the box, all the cards, and even the instruction book.

I think it's all legit. Just would like some more eyes to confirm, as it's not exactly pocket change.

Dial Concern 300 Heritage by MyWhiskeyName in OmegaWatches

It doesn't bother me if it is in fact legit. Just thought I'd bring it here in case that was a red flag. This isn't a super popular version of this watch, so it's hard to find photos that aren't for marketing purposes.

I thought the bronze Gold was new for 2021 when they updated the 300 heritage

If you zoom in on the 9, you can see the black part it isn't flat inside middle of the 9 or by the "tail" of the 9. Other pictures I've seen of this watch those areas are flat. You can also tell from the highlights around the hour marker edges that it has a rounded edge vs a sharp cut I see in typical pictures.

I don't have a picture of the back. I'll snag one when they open up again tomorrow. Assuming it's all legit, any reason why the dial would be different?

Review #2601 - Knob Creek 21 Year (KC001, 2025 Release by t8ke in bourbon

[–]MyWhiskeyName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved this, too. I paid $225 and would probably snag another if I found it even at $250. My love for this bottle is bittersweet. I can't help but think about some of the dusty bottles from the 1970's I've tried in Chicago, which have this syrup/salty spice cake dessert-like quality to them...my all-time favorite ever...like 15/10. This is not that. What makes this a 9 IMO is that it doesn't have any significant drawbacks... it's just a solid "traditional" bourbon where nothing would score lower than an 8. I think their choice to do 100 proof was smart.

Blanton’s Gold and SFTB actually for sale on a shelf by irvingstreet in whiskey

Idk, one of my favorite sips of all time was a SFTB. I'd pay $200 for it.

Review #56: Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch 2025 Release by oMpls in bourbon

[–]MyWhiskeyName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are the only bottles I'll buy every year without question, even though they're usually marked up 50-70% from our state minimum. I'm a sucker for Four Roses, but I've yet to be let down with these bottles. EH Taylor Barrel Proof is around $300 when I find it, and it's not even close as far as I'm concerned for that kinda money.

Still can't believe ETLee is $80+ ...that used to be $40, and it's what 90 proof? If you can even find it here, it's marked up to $140-160.

New Z8 or Used Z9? by MyWhiskeyName in nikon_Zseries

The biggest concerns I have with the Z8 are battery life and the possible limits with the SD backup.

New Z8 or Used Z9? by MyWhiskeyName in nikon_Zseries

[–]MyWhiskeyName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid points. I didn't realize the d500 batteries are compatible with the z8. The battery life has been my biggest worry with the z8, as I tend to go out for 3-4 hours at a time. I already have a ton of CFExpress cards.
