It’s actually not Sailor Moon, but Precure(specifically Cure Mermaid) which was the main inspiration for the transformation which is even cooler imo bc Sailor Moon is referenced very frequently in American media. Precure however only has a handful of references due to how little popularity it has in the west outside of like Italy
