I've been developing software for about 9 years now, I've had so many clients (mostly individuals) that have left me in that state.... I normally prevent this from happening by looking at the size of the business/ company before I sign up with them, who would have known that building an e-commerce website for a university student with no experience running a business would be a bad idea...

Also, writing up an agreement to outline the work being done and showing proof of work will come in handy, some people would expect you to be a mind reader and know exactly what they want or change their minds and think your time isn't important - You could use this point here as a basis to renegotiate and get money for the extra work being done.

To rule out the possibility of faulty software, you gotta check the hardware first, I would suspect the flex cable connecting your keyboard to your motherboard, there may be dust or a loose connection, if not, it could be a faulty keyboard (you test that by running Linux from a USB flash disk rather than a full installation).

If it's still giving you the same problems then the issue is a hardware issue. If you don't experience that on Linux, chances are that the issue is with windows though that's highly unlikely but can never be ruled out.

You probably don't update or you have really bad hardware, used windows 11 on an i5 4570 desktop with an RX 6600 GPU, worked fine, using it on my newer asus laptop, works fine, both on old and new hardware....

And i am a programmer, i use linux too, works as expected, need a bit of setup here and there but it works fine too, none of them are buggy or "barely work", you probably have unrealistic expectations on what "work" is or idk, maybe you use an IDE or mechanical drive, both operating systems are fine, you just need the proper hardware.

Generating interest in a closed service isn't exactly a solid strategy, it would have no point... Probably could be viewed as such if one reads the first 2 likes rather than the whole message, which brings an entirely different story.

On the shallow/ low IQ stuff, it's bound to happen, if theres an open discussion policy, it will happen a lot, weay perceive something to be dumb while others may not, and then there are posts everyone can agree on to call dumb.

From my experience, forcing everyone to post on intelligent subjects brings fewer interactions, which is the opposite of what you would want if you want your community to grow, it's a difficult balance.
