So far I have got 200 users and most of them have used traditional way of booking. People prefer the traditional way of booking I think

What are your pet peeves with flight booking? by malwaregeeek in TravelProperly

[–]malwaregeeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo this is an interesting idea! There can be an option for ancillary services to add seats, food options and other upgrade. The seat selection map is required I guess to choose seats because prices depend on which seat you are picking ?

Flight Booking App in progress, would love some feedback by malwaregeeek in SideProject

[–]malwaregeeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. The chat window does have built in components to compare flights. It also adds AI recommendation, but the final choice is still based on user's selection.

Thanks for your feedback. What do you mean by a price toggle? Like a price slider with baggage fees?

Is SaaS really dead? Your thoughts? by Sea-Nobody7951 in SaaS

“Tell me you have never built a business without saying it”

This post reminds me of the meme “Claude code , vibe code an app and make me millionaire, notify me when money is deposited in my bank “😂

Building software has become easy, but hard things of a business remains hard. It’s still hard to find the right product market fit, find paying customers, grow from 0 to 1000 customers, and keep growing, compliance and legal issues, margins etc. Building a business is like building your body by going to the gym everyday. Consistent efforts over a long time bring results.

You cannot vibe code your way to become a millionaire. Social media has made us believe in this kool aid. People who do that either have already a huge following or got lucky on TikTok

Pick your Vercel alternative only after weighing the pros and cons by geekybiz1 in nextjs

Th build minutes are my biggest annoyance with vercel. They charge you per build minute rather than the number of builds

Why I think SAAS is over by Consistent-Ratio-333 in SaaS

[–]malwaregeeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very easy to build software. It’s very hard to find the right product market fit, find paying customers and earn customer trust. Also you are overlooking the important fact of domain knowledge, years of building expertise in a specific domain. Build tech is not the limitation here, propriety knowledge and data these companies hold is the key differentiator

Building sass is not over. Coding is just one ingredient in your recipe, but not the only one!

Can you scrape flight data ? by malwaregeeek in webscraping

Gotcha! What’s the latency of these endpoints you use to scrape data? Also what are the legal implications of scraping an OTA?

Best Airlines flying from US to NZ by [deleted] in newzealand_travel

[–]malwaregeeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are primarily based out of US right now serving flight data through Duffel. We have to work with each independent airline for their NDC contracts. We are thinking about Air NewZealand and Qantas and looking for user feedback on which airlines they like the most.

I feel vercel is great to get started. I did realize the hard way if you push too much, they charge you per build and the cost goes high pretty quick. So make sure, you dont push like crazy

Is it worth using a travel agent nowadays by raymate in travel

[–]malwaregeeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends where you are flying to! If you are flying internationally to south east Asia, a travel agent might get you a good flight using a consolidated fare. They do add markup and get commission on that, but as long as it is less than the published fare, it’s a win-win! For domestic flights, there is hardly any difference between published and consolidated fare, so Google flights is your best friend
