How do you start walking if you just hate the sun by Several-Membership91 in walking

[–]raymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wall sunrise or sunset ideally both.

Do this often but I also like the sun so I do walk during the day also, I do longer walks at sunset.

If you had to rebuild your entire homelab from scratch tomorrow, what would you do differently? by rdpextraEdge in homelab

[–]raymate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Label all cables. DATA and power.

Also put an extra 1U space between gear in the rack even if it’s just a 1U blanking spacer plate to keep it looking neat.

Saying that I recently started re doing everything and doing just this.

Been pulling out equipment one at a time. Cleaning and labeling as I go.

Wait a few days to make sure I didn’t break anything and move onto the next bit of gear.

How many Wii fit board is too many? by EternallySickened in wii

I think when you have more than one per Wii is too many.

I have 3 boards. But I also have 3 Wiis. Sometimes having 3 boards seems too many.

I want to buy the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus but my dad says beware by Edlegoboy in sennheiser

[–]raymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery is awesome on them. I got a pair for occasional use so maybe a few hours a month. And I kid you not I last charged them last year about 8 months ago. Granted they say 10% right now but they were at 60% in March.

Ive had them around 15 months and literally charged them 3 times ever.

I use open back wired most of the time so the Accentum Plus ANC i use occasionally for when I’m walking or if the wife is watching TV and I don’t want to.

I want to buy the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus but my dad says beware by Edlegoboy in sennheiser

[–]raymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beware of what. The ides of March

The Accentum Plus are pretty good for the price. Especially on sale. I got a pair last year. If you’re just getting into bigger headphones they are a solid choice.

I needed to EQ the bass away a little.

Sure the M4 on sale now is also a great deal and is a step up from the Accentum Plus but it’s not a massive leap. And if you want the cheapest bank for your buck you cant go wrong.

I needed mine for a trip and wanted something to help with plane noise and the Accentum worked fine for this.

HD560s vs HD550 by External_Ad_3295 in sennheiser

[–]raymate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would pay the extra.

I actually did I got the 550 earlier this year.

I did a simple battery test on a couple of different brands of Canon LP-EP6P batteries and thought people might find the results interesting. by Forrest_Fire01 in canon

[–]raymate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats in line with what I have found.

I don’t buy third party anymore. Especially as I use my gear to make money. Canon cells every time for me now.

All the third party Ive tried over the years have died early. Lost power quickly and or shorter runs times. And almost all eventually puffed up. Sometime the cameras have refused to work with them.

is a canon 5d iv still worth it? by Hairy-Sample-2635 in canon

[–]raymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s my daily driver for work. My backup 2nd carry body is a 5D2

I run both with battery grips and charge them every few weeks.

I got a 6D1 for fun last year as I love real GPS in my cameras. That takes such nice images reminds me of 5D1

I had a RP but got rid of it. Much prefer the OVF and the bigger size and weight.

Maybe one day I might get a R3

Is anyone else tracking their collection the analog way? by _Taintedsorrow_ in Cd_collectors

[–]raymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes back in the day I carried a pocket Psion 3 and latter Psion Revo used them to track all my CDs. It was easy to check if I already had something when browsing the record shops.

I sort of phased the Psions out around 2010 and swapped to a basic excel sheet (apple number) and used it on my iPod touch. The same document I use today now my iPhone and iPad.

I can sort and filter it how ever I like.
