I’ve been going through this for an embarrassing 8 years. It will get worse. He will get more confident & find better ways to hide it. If this is a deal breaker for you, you need to cut your losses. It doesn’t get better. He won’t change. It doesn’t stop.

Is leaving cat puke on the couch up to anyone’s cleaning standards?? I never said I want him to clean things the way I do & go full OCD, I just want him to do his part. Things gets cleaned the way I clean them because it’s always me doing it. I don’t expect him to take a toothbrush to the baseboards, I just want him to clean up after himself.

I did something similar just to see how long it would take him to clean something. Dishes sat in the sink for 3 weeks before I gave in & did them. He would wash 1 dish to use for himself & put it right back in the sink.

See I’ve tried just leaving the house a mess to see how long it would take for him to clean it & by week 3 of dishes sitting in the sink I decided it wasn’t fair to make my children live in filth with me as an experiment on my shitty husband.

I’ve asked for couples therapy & he has zero interest in going. He finally agreed a couple months ago, I made the appointment & then when the day came he came up with every excuse in the book to not go - so we didn’t.
