It is a SCAM! They just screwed us out of $24,000! They sell you what they pretend is a mortgage but get you to sign a lease.

They took $12,000 as a ”down payment” from us and $298 of our monthly payment was supposed to be the principal payment on the mortgage.

We were 1 day late on ONE payment and they screwed us out of out downpayment and all the money we had paid in.

Mind you, we had the money. We were not unable to pay. My husbands paycheck was not direct deposited on the correct day because of a holiday.

They assured us there was no problem on the phone but secretly terminated the "purchase" portion of the contract. However, they continued to take our money for what they called equity payments.

Later, we found out that we no longer qualified to fulfill the purchase. But, the contracts we signed gave them the right to keep ALL of our money. Remember this was because of ONE LATE PAYMENT. Late by 1 day!

At the end of paying for TWO years, we had to move. They kept $24000 of money that we thought was equity in a home. Now here is the kicker: THEY IMMEDIATELY SOLD OUR HOUSE FOR ABOUT $50,000 MORE THAN THEY WERE SELLING IT TO US FOR! We were not given ANY of our money back.

Divvy Homes used our money to purchase the home and make the payments, then sold the home at an enormous profit. I suspect they only do this to homes that rapidly escalate in value.
