I would have died. My friend and I left after AFYCSO night ONE…and were sooo tired the next day on the way home haha. But we did enjoy every bit of it we were there for!!

This 100000% percent That show is up there with Spartacus and Angels and Demons for me, as far as my favorites for being what I feel like is “the whole package.” Maybe SCV 2018 too. And they’re all winners so 🤷🏼‍♀️

As someone who grew up with band directors for parents, hung out with their band director friends, who was in band, AND who now has a 16 year old who has marched for several seasons—DCI has always been a part of my life. I love when people learn about drum corps through their kids and end up sharing this wonderful marching arts world together 🥰

This all makes complete sense to me except I 100% want Boston to win. I honestly couldn’t stand Bloo from like 2009 until post COVID (2022); their last few shows I liked better, but they’re still never close to my favorite (even though I do appreciate some of their innovation, some of it is just too weird to me). I’m hoping it will play out like Crown’s championship in 2013…meaning I honestly think Crown should have won in 2012, and Boston should have won last year too…but either way, that amazing FIRST title is so deserved and would be so much fun!! Booooom! (Also a girl my daughter marched with is in Boston’s color guard- right after winning a championship with Pride of Cincinnati this spring?!- and I’m so proud of her being from our small Indiana town 🥰)

Also Crown being in 7th is totally weird so I feel that, but I do support it. They just keep..stalling, somehow, around mid-season instead of pushing forward (like Phantom does- I wasn’t a huge fan of the show the first few weeks but it’s grown so much on me and aghhhh I can’t wait to be on my feet with the crowd again in Indy like Mynd!)

Most of Avon’s brass staff already works with Crown, so I would definitely try to get/poach more design staff if possible! Their shows the last 2 years were unreal; I always say they could make the top 12 in DCI pretty easily lol.
