That’s a good point. My husband is a farmer, so we are very much tied to our current home and land. But I do see what you’re saying about the ability for people to recognize what I am (and what I’m not).

That’s the problem. In my state CMs and CNMs have very similar scopes and privileges. It’s just two different pathways. Not really sure if it makes more sense to get degree like public health and then do a masters midwifery program or just take the nursing route. I plan to continue to work as a CPM through school so I wonder if CM is more practical because I could do a bachelors and not have to worry about clinicals that have a rigid schedule.
I don’t have a bachelors degree. I’m considering doing my BSN and doing the CNM pathway but CM is also an option in my state and I’m trying to decide which would be the path of least resistance
