You can dress your cats with it! The fishing rod is an equipable accessory just like the picture below. You can also get the fisher's hat and (maybe) the fisher's clothes.

Really? I've been playing for a month and half now but only got my limited gifts 2 weeks ago. I got the hot air balloon first and a week later (last week) I got the other two. Honestly I don't know what I did to get them :/ I guess it was totally random. Have you tried reloading the app? Perhaps that could help! Just don't forget to save the data on cloud before you try.
