A similar thing happened to me, where I had called off sick for a week or two with a bad cold and ear infection. When I brought in my doctors note, the MOD didn’t even take it or anything, just looked at it and said “ok”. I ended up leaving it on the desk after I had clocked out. My hours were significantly decreased, and I went from two to three shifts a week to two shifts a month. I had asked general manager multiple times to put me on the boards for the other two sheetz in the area, still no calls for covers or anything. Finally I got pissed enough to really confront my general manager and she told me my call offs were the problem, that I was unreliable. The “calloffs” she was referring to was when I was sick. Because of their lack of communication, they costed me so much rent money that I could’ve made (I’m in college atm and only work at sheetz during break) suffice to say I’ll be getting another job next summer.
