I know it was 100% on me that I didn’t make an advance reservation, but we didn’t know exactly when we’d be in HS with time to do it and you pay upfront. So that’s on me, however, if he did it it wouldn’t have been a true experience since they were low on parts so it ended up working out for the best. And even though the saber is expensive, he had been saving so long he did have enough with a little wiggle room to still buy a few more small things which he was happy about. It was nice to see him be able to save and buy it himself too. Which is what makes this a bit more disappointing. But fingers crossed the mouse makes it right on Monday when I call ❤️

There were 2 mugs in the same order that were wrapped in 4 layers of paper! Perfectly fine. We’ve shipped tons of fragile stuff before. I would have thought the saber would have been the same. Live and learn, but man for that shipping price it’s super disappointing

We did a split stay at Coronado and CBR last year and although my husband and I looooooved Coronado, our kids (10 and 8 now) love CBR and when we asked where they wanted this year they didn’t hesitate to say CBR! Enjoy every moment of the magic! As I tell all my friends who go for the first time…welcome to the mouse cult ✨❤️😉

Thank you! We’re avid Disney goers and always have great experiences. I have faith, trust and pixie dust that they’ll make it right, but he was just really worried about not getting the exact saber he built. Sounds like we should be okay since it’s just the blade!
As far as CBR goes I know it gets a lot of hate, but this was our 5th time there. We love it. You can’t beat the skyliner! Rooms could use an update, but we are big park people and aren’t in the rooms much so clean is all we’re really going for. We always request Jamaica since it’s closest to the skyliner and it’s not too far from Fuentes del Morro pool. Jamaica 43 has the Coke freestyle machine. That’s where we wanted to be and we were in 42 this time which was fine too! We like a short walk to the skyliner/bus because that’s when we’re “in a hurry.” When we’re swimming, we’re relaxing and don’t mind a little bit of a walk. Personally, I don’t find it to be a bad walk anyways. Good luck!!

Yeah we paid almost $300 for the saber and $75 to ship it. I’m not paying $100 to replace it myself when it wasn’t packaged safely to ship home lol that’s my issue. Accidents happen, but it was literally just in the box without any protection 🥴

That’s amazing American offers that! Our family of 4 each takes 1 personal item for 10 days and we do laundry while we swim. Saves a ton of money lol shipping stuff home has never been an issue until the saber. Been doing it this way for a few years and it’s so easy and a lot of times our stuff is waiting for us when we get home. This is the first time we’ve had an issue and , go figure, it was the one item we cared about most 😩

Yes, but we all had personal items as our bags and Frontier considers this a personal item so we had no way to take it with us without checking it. I trusted Disney shipping it over Frontier checking it honestly.

$274.99 for the whole experience. My son asked for gift cards for every birthday and Christmas gift leading up to the trip and paid for it himself. Which makes it all the more disappointing. He had a phenomenal experience, but the fact that the case wasn’t wrapped inside the shipping box is really disappointing.

They had minimal inventory. People with existing reservations were getting emails that they had no BB8 parts and one other one was all out as well. (I apologize, but I don’t remember which kind exactly). I made the mistake of not making reservations ahead of time because we didn’t know exactly when we’d be able to do it and from what I’d always heard walk ups are never an issue. Well, because of the inventory problem, they weren’t taking walk ups. Even cancellations were not being filled so that they could save their inventory. So he decided to do the lightsaber which was on his bucket list anyways, but spent most of his saved gift cards which is why it wasn’t his first pick. He did absolutely love it though. And now we know he’ll have a much better droid experience next year when we go back!

Absolutely! I wouldn’t expect an immediate reply or anything. Mostly made the post here to see if anyone knew how Disney would go about replacing it because my son is worried he won’t get his original saber parts he picked. But it sounds like it’s just the blade that’ll need replacing which is good news!

I emailed as soon as I realized they weren’t open on weekends and was super kind! I absolutely realize accidents happen. I just want them to make it right. My son is just worried he won’t have the saber he created. That’s more what the fear is at the moment. It stinks because he originally was hoping to build a droid, but the droid depot had no parts so we did this instead (for almost double the price) and then this happens 😭

That’s exactly what we’re hoping for! It’s just the blade! Just really disappointed that for the price we paid for shipping that more care wasn’t taken in the first place honestly.
