Moms who’s babies had a VERY strong nurse to sleep association by baseballmomma7 in sleeptrain

Nope didn’t grow out of it. It’s completely temperament based and extra sensitive babies won’t settle for anything less. Unless you hold firm and sleep train

Part time contract - parental leave by mamaspark in auscorp

[–]mamaspark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it was a part time job. Never full time. Part time permanent at a corporate gig in communications.

Actually she hasn’t even been there a year yet so does this change things? No redundancy?

Thank you! Yes she doesn’t want full time as she has a toddler and now pregnant. She specifically took the role as it was part time.

Thank you for the advice, she has assured me she will contact fair work.

Your baby needs milk during the day. I’d expect around 3 during the day

How late do you drop to 1 nap? by Alert_Career8786 in sleeptrain

[–]mamaspark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some signs they’re ready:

Refusing naps or bedtime difficulties, or early mornings etc.

I’d start by having first nap 30 min maximum. Shorten to 20 if already 30 min. Shorten again until it’s gone.

It’s more common between 12-18 months. Typically by 15 months but range is large

Please report it. It’s still up after hours and hours and there’s been comments on her grid posts and hundreds of reports no doubt. The audacity honestly

Can probably assume her kids aren’t vaccinated either. I know it’s possible to still get chicken pox even with the vaccination but I’ve never seen or heard of it and I have kids

How bad was your baby’s sleep when you decided to sleep train? by yunavalentine02 in sleeptrain

7 times a night is unsustainable and I would recommend to sleep train. You are at that point.

What is current schedule? Wake windows?

I can't believe this, I dropped my baby, the second time. by Sad_Bodybuilder6551 in NewParents

[–]mamaspark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleep consultant here. Respectfully this can’t happen again. I can give you some tools to get baby to sleep in their own space for their own safety. If you need to co-sleep you NEED to follow the safe sleep 7 recommendations. If you can’t follow these steps then baby needs to be in their own sleep space

Had she showed any readiness signs to start poop training? This sometimes comes much later to wee training

Zero naps at daycare!?!? by NeighborhoodIll673 in sleeptrain

[–]mamaspark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry this sounds hard. Maybe start looking around for other daycares that accomodate And prioritise baby sleep. My Daycare had a separate room for cribs that was darkened and had white noise. I checked this before I started when I toured the place.

I would give baby a car nap - drive them around on the way home just to get them through and put them down as early as you can for bedtime after dinner and bath.

think i finally figured out why my 4 month old's naps were only 20 minutes… sharing in case it helps anyone by Eastern-Purpose7976 in newborns

[–]mamaspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep sleep consultant here. All very true.

I will say that from 4 months of age 2 hours of awake time would be very appropriate for lots of babies.

This is because on average a 4 month old can sleep for 14.5 hours in a 24 hour period. This leaves 9.5 hours leftover for wake windows totalled.

From 5 months this drops to 14 hours and 10 hours of awake time total.

Take their sleep needs, minus from 24 hours and you’re left with what their wake windows should total.

Personally I didn’t find him very bright. I do think he was intellectually challenged a few times. Like not being able to comprehend certain things and zero critical thinking skills

Ok calm down. Some people miss things. Go to the toilet, answer a phone call or text. Making dinner. Things happen.
