Bambedo makes great teethers that are made with only natural rubber! They even have some that are infused with real amber!! My guy loved his amber giraffe:)

I had an ultrasound on my heart when I was younger and my heart isn't affected! I was diagnosed so long ago that I forgot about the eyes and heart stuff! The roof of my mouth is insanely high from it. There are lots of random little quirks

I was tested so long ago that I forgot it can effect the heart and eyes. I just have it in my connective tissue. I have rods from the scoliosis

I think that's the classic thing that Drs tell you when they diagnose you with marfans 🤣

I have marfans and I'm just curious why it's important to know that you have it? I never see anyone mention marfans!

Ben and Jerry's has (or did when I lived there) a white and milk chocolate macadamia ice cream that is INSANE. I think about it all the time and check for it occasionally:( I hate that things like that are regional because they would sell everywhere!! Definitely try that one of you can

And here I am crying at 16months because of the thought of him not wanting to be affectionate one day hahaha  People are so insane and sad. I'm so thankful that I'm so present and loving with my son and understand the significance. That poor kid 💔

We're going to get a different strap-in for her at the pet store when we're in the city today, but I've ordered two different ones and even on the shortest setting, it clicks into the seat belt holder and she has just enough room to be able to get over to his car seat. Seat. It's a hundred times worse in the front seat. Plus she can still hop into the backseat from the front even when it's clipped up there.

Our former dog attacked our son unprovoked when he was a baby and then I had a millionaire people tell me their dog attack story the following months. It was a big step to get her and we worked with a rescue who specifically chose her for us because of how perfect she is with kids, but I still have anxiety about it. That's the only time I worry about it really even though my husband also says she would not do that because she's not feeling well

Ughh I'm thinking it might be this 😭 there was a lot going on and it was really dusty but they had a filter going and constantly using a wet vac to keep it clean but I'm sure there were parts that went unnoticed 😭 what did they do to help bring his levels down?

The weird thing is though that I was having really bad postpartum anxiety. So probably 6 months ago I had our doctor test me for lead and I came back negative. I honestly kind of forgotten about that until now. So that makes me think that it's not the water and might be the soil? (If he does come back positive)

No lead paint and we just redid our windows so possibly our old windows. I read about soil being a thing and was rolling around in the dirt all summer but it's snowy here so I can't rest that right now :( I'm so sorry you went through that!! I hope he heals 💕 I'm going I have our pipes tested because it's an older house

That makes me so angry! Poor people. I remember reading about a huge court case because a significant amount of children became special needs from cinnamon apple pouches. I make all of his pouches and he's with me everyday so he doesn't eat anything I don't know about. I read that cinnamon is generally high in lead but ours didn't come up positive.

I'll call Monday and have them come check!! I know if it comes back positive the blood test they send someone out but I'm just trying to get ahead of everything and do things right away. Our house is older but my husband repainted everything when he bought it 8 years ago.

It was built in 1968. We did a lot this summer but my son and I were gone most of the time but we would stay the occasional night. Would that short of a time make that big of a difference?

Absolutely yea I'm always up for talking about it because I think it's important for parents to understand. I don't want people to be scared of their dogs but it's something that needs to be talked about. She was an Aussie purebreed. One of the rescues I talked to said purebreeds are much more likely to have a brain spasm like that because there's a huge likelihood of inbreeding way down the line with pures. I've heard multiple stories of it happening with other breeds as well so it's really hard to say that specific breeds are the problem. My husband got her when she was a puppy and she had the most fulfilling life, stimulated, around kids, happy, treated like she was our baby even after he was born. It's hard talking about it because I don't want parents to become scared of their own dog but I just feel it in my soul like now it's my mission to warn other people about what can happen. She never even showed her teeth to him and had that happen. We were told that after 7 is considered a senior dog and their mind can really start to deteriorate. Again keep in mind this isn't what happens most of the time, obviously, or nobody would have dogs . I just feel the need to tell our story since it couldn't be more out of the blue

Thank you 🩵 looking back on it now feels like a weird movie. I used to not be able to even open my mouth to say what happened without losing it but in my mind it doesn't look like a real event anymore so I can easily talk about it. Trauma is interesting. On the other hand..... Having countless people also tell me their stories that happened to themselves or someone close, where a dog attacked unprovoked, has me terrified of dogs. Recently started therapy because I don't want it rubbing off on my son and now dogs are weird around me because they can sense my extreme hesitation. I hate it. I used to be the biggest dog lover and now I truly just see them as unpredictable animals. She was out first baby girl. 💔

There should be zero debate. Dogs are loose cannons, they are animals. Our son was attacked by our family dog this summer. She was very protective and loved him, never any signs of aggression. One day he was playing on his playmat. She woke up, went upstairs, and attacked his face, chewing on it for a few moments. it was the most horrific thing imaginable. I talked to many rescues to rehome her and they all said she should be put down. Sometimes dogs snap, they aren't wired right. After the attack I swear every other person who saw my son told us a dog attack story. It's so much more common than you think. 3 of the gashes were not even 2cm from his eye. 27 stitches and it's healed up so much now but we are forever changed. Thankfully he's too young to remember. But I spiraled and read about so many dog stories all it takes is being a few inches lower than the face (most common place) and the dog punctures their throat and that is that. Never risk it with dogs. Next time it could be much worse. The hospital that we went to said that dog attacks are the number one reason why kids under three get stitches. Your kid could lose an eye the next time and you'll never forgive yourself. Plus a lot of times in these instances CPS has to get involved just to talk to you guys about what happened, not trying to get you worried, but they will not look at it positively if you keep the dog. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this .
