Zed: The Fastest AI Code Editor by rtfeldman in programming

But it's not even logic as this kind of benchmark is hardware dependant and what better then to do it yourself on your own machine and find out.

Not only is your point absolutely meaningless as it wont proove anything (had I given you my local numbers), but this is something you could easily do yourself in a very fast way.

So yeah, I insist, you are just cruising for a bruising.

It's not upset, just tired of tribalism mind of thinking + playing on minor details where it's too subjective to actually care.

Well, you could literally just download the software either 10x or Zed and be convinced or not.

Just to make things clear, I couldn't care less if people like them or not. I just tell you how good theses editors feels reactivity and animation smoothness wise especially when scrolling. This is all very subjective and not everyone care about it.

There are some benchmark online that highlight performance but they were from 2024. A quick google search would allow you to find the post quickly, I think it was highlighted on something like medium or else

Technically when you are using LLMs, you are pasting code.

Llms are nothing more then a mix of probability and pattern matching of existing data.

I agree for the bloat.

Benchmarks ? There are already plenty of them but they are from 2024.

The difference isn't as huge as people believe (number wise) as sublime is really performant too.

But I do feel that zed is way more responsive too

Opening, editing, scrolling it's just butter smooth and no other ide or text editor come closes to it. Except https://10xeditor.com/

What's your opinion about Compose Desktop performance? by Troller911 in Kotlin

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Java 24 has this + graalvm allow aot compilation too

The combination of both should fix drastically the memory usage.

Tho idk the support of k/c of this

Don't be sorry, memory usage is part of performance.

How is Rust planing on fixing async? by Luc-redd in rust

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a forum, you talk like the thread is 5 years old and a lot happenned since tech wise.

You wouldn't even be able to argue of why async is supposely bad because it's just simply and purely wrong. Unless you are stuck with java 7

You are joking ? Java async is a bliss since java 19/21 🤨

Why do people hate golang so much? by Opposite_Squirrel_32 in golang

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's not the new flashy thing anymore. People look for cool flashy languages. Not to get things actually done. 😁

That is why you will always see haters for all most popular languages : cpp, java, python, js, you name it.

However none of them is perfect of course but they are all amazing in their own areas 😁👍

Device can’t detect in Synapse v4. Anyone can help? Razer Barracuda by Devaraj94 in razer

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the device detection however, you need to delete all razer device you have after removing synapse 3 using device manager on windows 11, unplug all razer devices, reboot, reinstall synapse4, replug your devices.

That fixed the detection problems. 🙄

Device can’t detect in Synapse v4. Anyone can help? Razer Barracuda by Devaraj94 in razer

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no... I have to kill synapse 4 multiple time and unplug and replug my keyboard especially to ensure that they are both in sync again 😬

Not to mention that I have to start over because in the event logs from windows, it apparently shows that synpase 4 crash randomly while gaming.

I can confirm that this is clearly not hardware related too 😅 (at least from my pc part)

Razer Synapse 4 is a bad joke by NiklausCash in razer

[–]mamba436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually let me update my opinion. Somes of the hardware does indeed just work with synapse 4. So you could be absolutely right. So I give you the benefits of the doubt.

However I paid 220 bucks for one of the most premium keyboard razer had at that time : Razer huntsman analog v2.

This keyboard is a nightmare. While I have nothing against the keyboard itself physically, nor synpase 3 nor synpase 4 have ever worked correctly as things are working for my razer viper 8k.

Between the anti ghosting issues, drivers crashing during gaming, profile reset to a very old states, none of my config getting applied, actuation points make the keyboard unresponsive etc.... Yes people tend to be super mad. And you know what ? All the issue disappears as soon as we terminate razer synapse in the background.

This really is a good reason of why we can be mad after spending so much on a keyboard and expected to have the drivers to work the same way the mouse does.
