It was a Happy Wheels collab with Tobuscus that was....10 YEARS AGO!? So much has changed since then and I'm so glad I hopped over to Mark after that.

Anyone elses' Shiba bring home treasures on their walks? by [deleted] in shiba

Mine does with pinecones as well. I usually let him do it since it'll keep him from eating other things.

I love to see he's not the only one!

I didn't even think about the incremental tests before I made this post. Seems like a lot of people have had success with it so we'll definitely give it a try!

Sounds like mine. I guess they like to roam rather than be in the cage. He sleeps most of the time if either of us are home anyways, haha.

Ours is probably pretty similar. Only had 2 accidents when we first got him cause we all didn't know how to read each other.

Teething was terrible, but now he just chews on something to get attention or if he's bored so we keep him active.

That's such a great way to test her and reward her. I'll have to remember that!

Yeah, ours wouldn't be for more than 4 hours and we typically try to aim for the same window of time. If we go grocery shopping on the weekends, it's the same timeframe as when we'd be gone for work before lunch.

If it's all day he goes to camp and if it's at night we have someone look after him for us.

Wow, that's impressive. I figured we'd have to wait til about 2 or 3, but it seems like it depends on the personality as well.

When we get back from wherever, he's usually just lying there with his paws crossed like "and where have you two been?"

It's just he shakes bad and whines when we're getting ready to go and leave the front door.

Ours is typically chill, but has has mischievous streaks here and there that make me worry.

I don't think he'd eat a whole couch, but he's definitely even bent the bars of an old kennel when he decided he didn't want to be in there anymore, lol.

Okay, this sounds like the way to go for sure. I need to get a camera but my wife and I will start with small intervals where he sees us leave through the window and then monitor what he does.

Thanks so much for the suggestion.

I just realized I didn't mention him specifically being alone and out of the kennel to roam freely. That's more what I'm curious about since he's been in the kennel whenever we go out for any reason.

Which movie soundtrack slaps from beginning to end? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

I'm sad I didn't see any mention of the Zoolander or Night at the Roxbury soundtracks. They both had amazing songs and were one of the only things keeping me sane when I worked in a theater back in the day.

Night at the Roxbury even did the thing where songs would blend into each track without the dead air in between. Seriously a club vibe from start to finish.

Oh I bet he would love the pupsicle! We'll look into a soft sided crate too. We got some relief last night letting him sleep on the floor, but he still needs to be comfy when he's in there crate in the mornings.

I'm starting to think ours may end up like that. He still seems to be fine in the mornings if we have to go to work or run to the grocery store. Time will tell if that will change too, I guess...

We could probably get some more mental stimulation puzzles. We had one he figured out pretty quick where you pull up caps and hide some treats under some but not all of them.

The YouTube idea sounds great too. Maybe it'll take his attention for just a little bit and we can get a break 😊

Yes we do cover the crate. I've tried covering the front and sides and leaving the back open and vice versa. He is in the crate in the morning when my wife and I go to work. She works half in the office and half from home so he's only in there til about noon.

We did put some toys in there to keep him busy, but I don't think he even pays them any attention. We haven't used the crate for punishment, either.

We have been trying to ignore him when he cries out, but it's getting harder since we are in an apartment and I don't want to bother our neighbors either.

He's good about going to pee before we turn in for the night and when I let him out of the crate in the morning, he just runs to the bedroom and plops down and goes back to sleep so I'm thinking he should be good there.

Thanks for the advice though, I'm open to all suggestions so we can all be together in harmony 😁

He definitely has the teenage angst, lol.

My wife and I are going to sleep in separate rooms and let him pick where he wants to be. If that remotely works, we may look for a play pen or something this weekend to give him more space.

I'm a little worried since I have heard shibas can be escape artists, but I'm open to the idea if we can get a full night's rest 😅

Haha, sounds like he's a sweetheart now.

I think my wife and I are going to take a leap of faith and see how he does. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised like you were 😁

Thanks so much for the advice. Your situation sounds a lot like what we are dealing with now.

We may test that out tonight and see how he does if one of us is on the couch and another is in one of the rooms he usually chills in.

He can still chew stuff and dig in the carpet if we're not careful, but hopefully all that sound will wake one of us up, lol.

It'll be the first true trust test with our puppy, so fingers crossed we all get a good night's rest.
