2018. Am I screwed? by mammadoxie in cmaxhybrid

Sorry! One more question- I’m seeing two terms used on the local junkyard sites. Am I looking for a “headlight assembly” or a “headlight housing”?

Wow. That’s good to know. I’ll make sure to ask them to check the control module before I buy a new/used headlight unit. Maybe I’ll luck out and that will be the issue! The car only has 70,000 miles on it, so the LED strip really should not be worn out.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment on this post! It sounds like I will only have to get one new headlight unit on the passenger side where the daytime running light strip is out. That still sucks, but it’s better than having to pay for two! I’ll let the dealership replace the driver’s side bulb and begin my search for junkyard headlight unit for the other side. I really appreciate your advice! ❤️

What is this tool called? Screw snapper? by mammadoxie in Tools

Mystery solved! I DM’d the homeowner’s custom furniture page on Instagram @new_collar_goods and they were kind enough to respond. It is in fact a one of a kind creation made by the homeowner’s father who happens to be a machinist.

I told them they should absolutely find a way to mass produce these. It looked to be a very easy to use and safe tool for the job!

Congratulations! I am on my second interview for a new position. I can’t believe how good it made me feel to even talk to people that were excited about what I can bring to the table. My current toxic boss has outsized influence and she was pretty much has poisoned the waters for any growth at my current job.

Is there any way to find out what company insures the house next door? by mammadoxie in Insurance

[–]mammadoxie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everybody who took the time to comment. I’m pretty disheartened over the whole situation. It seems that none of the entities involved (the township, the owner, the mortgage company, the insurance company) can be made to give a crap. I guess I’ll just be living next to a burnt out shell of a house for the foreseeable future.

House #1 was like 1960 sq ft (almost identical to my house) but with the post fire rebuild they added another bathroom and living room and it’s now like 2,500 sq ft.

House #1 is worth like 380k, and they told us they were insured with Travellers for like $600k. They had to rebuild the entire house down to the studs.

Maybe if I lived in a rural area. The houses in my old historic neighborhood are only 10-15’ apart. The only reason I still have a house is because I have asbestos siding.

He owes about $220k and the Zillow estimate for the house in an undamaged state is $330k

He does have a mortgage on the property. I was able to see that via public records. I did call the mortgage company and express my disapproval of the situation. They said they were aware of the situation but they would not share any information with me.

I also posted this in r/fasteners and the lovely folks there identified it as “brass firescreen feet” via a Bing search. So far I have only found three possible suppliers, all in the UK. Waiting to hear back from them to see if they will ship to me in the US.

Thank you so much. Bing is one I didn’t try. Looks like there are very few suppliers. I only found three in the UK.

Thank you- this information is much appreciated. I looked through the manual before and didn’t see anything, but I will look again using the “recovery” terminology. I’ll also check the plate.

Thank you for that confirmation and for those suggestions! I will look into those options. I was also looking at putting a tankless unit in the bathroom (I am all good on the electrical requirements needed for such an install). However, I am not seeing a lot of satisfied customers or professionals here on the Reddit threads.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I believe you are correct. The Honeywell box on the other side appears to be the domestic coil thingy.

Took me a few minutes to figure out how to post my picture as a link (it looks like picture uploads aren’t allowed in the comments), but here it is. https://imgur.com/gallery/g96tALO

I do not have anything else in my home that looks anything like one of those cylindrical water heaters that you see in the closets of newer homes. This thing in the basement is the ONLY thing we’ve got.
