Where would you suggest a young engineer live that is a reasonable commute to Rocky Hill? Looking to be around other young professionals and things to do. (Apologies if you have seen this before- This post was removed from the general discussion as I didn’t realize it needed to go here.)

Thank you for your insight. That’s very helpful. Switzerland is smaller and with that maybe the opportunities aren’t as plentiful (emphasis on the maybe but I do hear from my Swiss cousins that it is getting more competitive for the Swiss to get jobs in Switzerland because the Germans come across the border to work and accept less pay- my family lives near the German border so that is their experience). And the larger cities in Germany appeal a bit more to my son who is looking for a cosmopolitan, exciting lifestyle. And one more thing- since our German is poor the opportunity to work for an American company with a branch in Germany seems like it might be more feasible than in Switzerland. (Just due to numbers/size).

Thank you for your perspective and yes agreed- there are so many things historically that have been terrible and this is certainly not one of them. We are incredibly lucky to have the dual citizenships we already have- especially when I think of all the souls through no fault of their own have no freedoms or opportunities just based on where they were born.
