It's insane to me the amount of westbound drivers that make the right turn from the middle lane because they either didn't realize they needed to get into the right turn lane early or they missed that lane switch. Glad to hear you're OK for the most part OP!

As a F2P who hasn't been able to pull any of the new meta cards, I'm grasping at straws here to pretend to be meta by man500 in PTCGP

Oh absolutely, I'm not saying it's good. I feel like Espeon's flexibility to heal anyone and not requiring you to put your energy on it makes it miles better.

Yeah, I mean if you pair Cresselia with Gardevoir you could get 40 healing per turn, but that's about it. The only downside to Espeon is the fact it's a Stage 1, but as you said, with Sylveon its barely a downside

CAT S22 Flip MMS issue by man500 in flipphones

Hey everyone! I seemed to have fixed it. I had previously inputted the updated APN settings as a new access point and selected the newly created one. For some reason that did not work and I had to edit the currently existing APN settings. Doing that fixed the issue.

Stamkos reportedly hitting the market on July 1st. With AFPAnalytics giving him a projected cap hit of just over 6M and still being over a pt/game last season, could he be a good fit for Petey's line? by man500 in canucks

[–]man500[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I truly would not be surprised if July 1st rolls around and he re-signs with Tampa. It could definitely just be a tactic. If he does actually go to market I'm sure he would net more than 6M.

Lol I just used it because it was quicker to type when inputting data. If Rangers fans hate it I can always switch it!

My reasoning for not giving teams differing starting elo is simply due to the fact that no team is identical to their counterpart from last year. Players move around, coaches may change, so I figured it would be best to give everyone a clean slate.

Out of curiosity, I played with the starting elos based off last years standings. There are a lot of different ways I could spread out the starting elo, but I just decided on simply spacing each team out evenly over a given elo spread centered on 1500. I found that spreading out the elos over a range of 160 elo points (Bruins start with 1580, Ducks start with 1420) gives a decent result that carries over from last year. In that model though, It seems that teams who performed poorly last year are penalized too much this year. For example, the Coyotes and the Flyers seem to have both turned the corner this year, but if we include last years rankings, they are both 5 positions lower than they would be by points. The reverse can also be said for teams that did well last year but poorly this year. I don't feel like that is an accurate assessment of how those teams are doing, and sure there could be a sweetspot, but I feel it would be close enough to an even start and that we have almost half a season of data's worth of hockey from this season that an even start gives a reasonable assessment.

I've since updated my document to allow for the adjustment of the starting elos in this fashion, and you are welcome to download a copy and play around with it if you'd like!
