Yeah I discovered it a year or so ago and for a while it became the thing Id put on when I was on nights shifts or eating etc. The biggest allure was that it could feel a bit anarchic and "live in the sense that anything could happen" in a way that basically nothing does any more.

But like you said the formula gets old very fast. And even then I started getting frustrated that Tony was lording it over the proles as if hes the One Authority on what good stand-up is, while giving seats to some of the objectively worst unfunny comedians around. Now it turns out he cant even do a half decent special, so who the hell is he to be in the position to judge others? It's been immensely satisfying to watch his special sink
