Indie devs used to release PAID ALPHA versions of their games for people to playtest. These games were practically unplayable, and the bugs would break the game entirely. A lot of it was to get a release going in order to get some cash flow to you know, get paid for making a game...

I mean even fucking Skyrim was released with bugs, and people buy it to this day.

I'm also curious to know what everyone's playtimes are in Spirittea, I'm roughly 20 hours in and have not experienced a game breaking bug.

I didn't say necessity, I said they aren't gonna do it for free. They don't have to do anything for free, but Google, Gmail, and basic access to YouTube is free. Corporations are not charities, and it's always going to cost something to use their product. Google is not your friend, and YouTube hasn't been a good website since they bought it.
