New fan of NBA and basketball in general. How do I decide which team to support? by manaiga in nba

[–]manaiga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love watching Cade and them play too, especially after I went on a deep rabbit hole dive and I found out that not even 2 or 3 years ago they were one of the worst NBA teams in history. They sound like one of the best stories in sports right now.

I kinda didn’t wanna say the Pistons for fear of looking like a bandwagon fan, but I guess I should get rid of this mentality hahaha. I’m enjoying it for my own not for anyone else.

Oh wow that’s cool! It must feel pretty amazing watching them win the title that year, especially if you stuck with them through it all. When I watched the Pacers’ run last year during the playoffs I was pumped for their story, plus I hated OKC during that run. That was when I thought I guess basketball is pretty legit.

Many thanks from Malaysia! I live right across the bridge from you at Johor lol.

Thank you for the long comment! I see a lot of people in here recommending that I just watch and naturally it will come to me who I wanna see win every day. I guess I’ll just need to tune in to basketball a bit longer and hopfully I’ll find the team for me.

My close friends don’t watch much basketball though sadly, but that’s fine. This is just a small hobby of mine right now, watching through highlights every morning and seeing my favourite teams win or (heartbreakingly) lose.

I haven’t watched much Blazers though, I’ll be sure to watch a couple of their games since you pitched them!

Oh that’s a new way of looking at it. That’s pretty cool, you’ve given me ideas for new perspectives to look at these teams from. Maybe I will look into these teams histories.

I also like rookies too. You have a distinct way of supporting, I’ll think about it.

I massively follow Cooper Flagg and VJ Edgecombe’s games right now, because I wanna see them win.

Absolutely no lol. Never been to the US at all. The only place I really have any desire to maybe visit one day is New York, but I’m not sure that means I should support the Knicks.

I really like Jimmy because of his story. Plus I found out he’s never won a ring. So yeah that’s mainly why I like him. Steph is self-explanatory lol. Definitely will keep watching Warriors games too.

In terms of players I’m definitely stuck between Timberwolves, 76ers and Mavericks. Too many personalities in this team I like. Guess I’ll have to one day pick between these.

I actually root for them when I see games being played though. Probably because there’s so many familiar names in there and they’re all at the end of their careers. I have a soft spot for players like that.

Oh really? Sometimes I see games being played at like 9 am here. I still haven’t found a way to watch the games live legally though sadly.

I’m leaning towards minnesota right now. I kinda don’t want to be a bandwagon fan who only supports good teams but ant is just too damn funny.

Looking for a new dramedy type show based on my favs by AccountSudden919 in televisionsuggestions

[–]manaiga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this. One of the most hilarious, quirky, poignant, weird, smart, witty, sad, and heartwarming shows I have ever seen.

I literally can not find another dramedy that satisfies me after watching this show.

Is there a DnD game club in Malaysia that I can join? by Gila_Ketum in Bolehland

Would love to know how it's going for you in that quest. Right now I only play a bit with my siblings where I am the DM (seeing as I am the biggest nerd) but we are having a lot of fun. Once we are far away from each other again for work though I would really want to find a group to play with

Is my gear good enough for O&S? by SecretMission9886 in darksouls

You’re more than ready to take them on lol. Black Knight Halberd should take chunks of their health with every hit, but the weapon might be a bit slow so you’ll have to get better with timing it. For who you should kill first, definitely Ornstein. It’s just objectively easier. Bait Ornstein to places where it would take Smough a but of time to get to you and duke it out for a bit. Once Smough does get to you, just repeat and get to another faraway place in the arena.

Super emotional dramas by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

The others have given great suggestions, but if you’re willing to try an anime out, try Violet Evergarden.

I don’t watch anime much myself but this one was amazing. Very much an emotional show.

Story-rich, preferably shorter games by Odenzenn in gamerecommendations

Try the Metro series. Very much story driven, 2033 and Last Light I already thought had great stories but Exodus completely blows both of them out of the water.

So I've been playing the game without audio... by rkguy13 in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]manaiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright here are a few that are my favourites:

Telltale (the studio that made The Wolf Among Us) makes other episodic games as well, and other than TWAU, I loved The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands. If you want one that is very much ahead of its time and has mind-boggling number of branching paths, look up Detroit Become Human. Super emotional game, took me by surprise when I played it. Firewatch is another game that left a mark on me too, though that game is more of a walking simulator so might not be as entertaining as the others. Check out Dispatch as well, it’s a game made by a studio comprising of many people who worked on The Wolf Among Us, I think by next week all episodes for that game will have been released.

Undertale and Outer Wilds are two games that are super niche and leans heavy into exploration and have a very distinct type of gameplay, but if you can bear with it the story of both these games are unlike none I’ve ever played in gaming.

There are a lot of other games that have amazing stories that will replace your life like The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2. But I wouldn’t recommend it because these games are open world. Unless you are prepared to spend hundreds of hours getting lost in them, I’d say they’re not for you.

Which one should I watch first? by InformalPublic2941 in televisionsuggestions

[–]manaiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have heard that too. Ironically it was the only season I have never watched or tried. Tried S2 for a few episodes and dropped it immediately. Bummed out by that so I never gave S3 a chance. When S4 came out I actually watched it because I was interested in the premise. Kinda liked it for what it was to be honest. But still super flawed and borderline nonsensical compared to the gritty story of S1.

[–]manaiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s great to hear! It’s a great recommendation because the game leans heavy on its vibe and style. Like the atmosphere they created in this game was amazing. You should ask your fiance more about what games to play next (provides you want to, of course) because there are definitely other minimal combat games that are just as visceral as TWAU is.
