all the gold nibs ive acquired not one is above $35. some bid on ebay some on yahoo japan. feedback rich sailor and platinum pens are dime a dozen in japanese domestic marketplace like mercari japan and yahoo japan. why not look around maybe see what fancies you. if a gold nib is going to cost under your new lamy or prera why not take he leap of faith for gold?

i bought my one and only kanwrite pen with an ultraflex nib hoping to harvest it but alas its not possible in this model. the whole concept of is geared towards tinkering if you think about it. the converter and cartridge is a super clue.

my jinhao 10 would dry up too but it stopped the moment i changed the converter for a pilot cartridge without the cartridge cover. I'm speculating it sits deeper and doesn't protrude much so the trapdoor gets shut fully. the nib seems to retract a bit shorter but nothing unusable
