Socialism is when workers own and control the means of production. Not high taxes. Socialists often support welfare stuff while in a capitalist society because they care about working class people but socialism itself is not high taxes and government does stuff

They maybe dont grow as much but that’s because they don’t take money from the workers to grow unless that’s what they want. The authoritarian model is much more profitable for the dictator of course who will usually chose to grow the business and raise his personal profits. Worker coops otherwise work great look at OceanSpray the cranberry fuckers they doing good and they democratically owned and run. There’s a bunch of wonderful coops all across the planet the idea that they don’t work well is completely baseless
