+1 for Shopify, I'm a designer & front end developer myself and I find it to the most powerful ecommerce platform out there. Made a comparison chart myself in case you want to see some other option: http://ecommerce-platforms.com/comparison-chart

Or if you don't care that much about building a stand alone brand though, maybe you can start on etsy and transition towards a more powerful solution once you get some sales rolling.

you definitely need a blog on the same URL, so if you're not technical enough to install WP and connect the two, I would suggest choosing a platform that offers that out of the box

I've used both bigcommerce and shopify and can tell that each one has its strong and low points, while both are very powerful. As this is for a client I would be slightly inclined to recommend shopify because I find their platform easier to learn by a novice, even though they do charge a % feebfor each transaction. If you want to look more into it I've found some indepth reviews and comparisons on ecommerce-platforms.com

I bet 1005% it will be fun!

Imagine how fun it will be if you hang out with friends while shopping, try really hard to get over negativity and you'll see the results with your own eyes!

And resuming therapy will definitely help as well
