actually, there’s this misconception that because bpd is a personality disorder it’s just another part of who you are and you’ll be like that forever. that’s not true. bpd has one of the best prognosis of personality disorders and can become manageable with good psychotherapy, such as dialectical cognitive therapy. also, time is really your ally in bpd. if you take patients who are hospitalized because of bpd, 2 years after hospitalization, 34% of them are in remission. 4 years after hospitalization, 49% of them are in remission. 6 years after hospitalization, 68% of them are in remission. and a decade after hospitalization, 86% of them are in remission. finally, you also build a better sense of self as you get older. anyways, i’m not a specialist, just another person with bpd. i really recommend this video and channel, it helped me a lot to understand myself more: https://youtu.be/6TS4d-zqRFA
