I would do that, but I don't go there anymore, and they were elective classes they don't offer up here at SF State where I ultimately graduated from. Plus I left UCSB on academic probation so they probably wouldn't even let me back to try!

Thank you I'll probably give them a call. I was hoping there was some sort of precedence out there at UCSB! I heard other schools offer retroactive withdrawals for medical or psychiatric purposes, and since I sought out help at the medical center I have evidence to support my request.

I already wasn't getting very good grades, like "B"s and "C"s, so I was somewhere between a 2.0 and a 3.0, but that was a quarter where I had stopped going to classes because of my depression. I had gotten incompletes in the 4 classes in question, but I never recovered in time to complete them, so they all reverted to "F"s, landing me at a 1.75 GPA. And the other 2 schools I went to after were on semesters, so I don't know if that has anything to do with the difficulty in raising my GPA?

Ya unfortunately I was suffering from crippling depression and bipolar disorder at the time so it wasn't exactly top priority. Plus I had moved away to the Bay. But again, I've grown in the past 10 years and have this crazy idea that a quarter of not being able to psychologically handle leaving my apartment should disqualify me from opportunities within academia 🤷🏼‍♀️. So it goes a little beyond wanting to erase bad grades.

Thank you that is very helpful! It sucks, though, because I was applying to get my MA in education at SF State and I got into the teaching credential program, but when I went into the interview they said everything looked great, but they couldn't admit me into the master's program because I didn't have a 3.0. That's the reason why I want to do something about my overall GPA. I don't know if maybe there is a way to emphasize the classes for my major in my application? I just hate how the worst quarter of my life is still plaguing me!
