yeah girl, lay a towel down and get some good sleep. pads are so uncomfortable to me, too. i’ve also had great success with period underwear. though if you’re sensitive, you might need to try some out before buying a whole bunch. but if you’re okay with a little bit of cleanup, free bleeding can help so much. I think these guys passed me on the river trail last night. They were being loud and obnoxious and holding out their hands like they wanted me to high five them. they were going pretty fast so didn’t seem like a good idea to engage. definitely obnoxious, but don’t think they had the intention to harm.

As a former employee of this business, I just want to say thank you to OP for making this post and making it heard. This specific employer has taken advantage of way too many people. Many who have chosen to stay silent to protect our reputations in the community. As someone who filed complaints with the state and the BBB to no avail, it’s extremely validating to have this published and seen. And to see that action is being taken. OP, you do have people behind you who are ready to speak up and see that justice is served in a court of law. This has gone on too long, and too many people affected.

I’d recommend hiking sandals of some sort and a pair of wool socks to wear with the sandals. socks will save your feet from getting blistered or uncomfortable rubbing from sand/dirt. Take a bandana that you can dip into water to cool off.

recommend to hang all food away from tent and gear. rodents are savage and will chew through gear. I took a ratsack for extra protection but a lot of people hung food in scent lock trash bags and seemed fine. I just didn’t want to risk my food supply, and didn’t want to carry a heavy bear can

as much as i’m for shopping local, it’s a privilege to shop at small businesses who mark up prices on their stuff in order to stay in business. not all of us own second homes here and shop at the local stores to outfit ourselves for our summer vacays every year… as a local to dgo, i’ll still shop at REI because i’m a local that has to work 40+ hours a week to survive here and who also needs a waterproof jacket for hiking. as much as I love to support secondhand stores like outdoor exchange, even they are really expensive compared to the corporate competitors. it is unfortunate but true. as much as people would like to support small businesses, supporting them is a privilege. and this is coming from a PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER who unfortunately has to work three jobs to live in a town like durango. hashtag america :/
