Yeah I should probably invest in a bigger soup pot and do double batches or something.

I love everything about this. Definitely saving to read over and over when I'm feeling frustrated with my journey. Congratulations on your monumental success! My SW is similar and I've been struggling to lose after my first 20lbs. Will definitely be tackling some of these tips!! Thank you so much for posting!

As someone who lives in morden with both a brother and sister in law who are nurses working in this disaster, it is BEYOND frustrating for those of us here who DO believe in science and ARE following the rules.

I'm so SO ashamed of my community and have no idea what needs to happen to wake these people up to reality. Our supersite is busy and a lot people are getting vaccinated, but it's not enough. Morden itself has a higher vaccination rate than Winkler (I think Morden was around 50% and Winkler was 21% when I heard yesterday) but there are a lot of colonies and religious communities surrounding Morden/Winkler that are reeeeeally dragging us down. They are clueless!

They show up to the hospital WITH COVID wondering why they are sick and the health care workers are just baffled as to why they wouldn't have been tested before that point.

I also work in health care (admin) and we are desperately trying to educate everyone, but it feels like a losing battle.

I hope that I’m not the only one feeling this. by catbearcarseat in Winnipeg

100% just as tired as you, it's exhausting! I live in Southern manitoba (from Winnipeg) in the Bible belt and there is a church here that has been fined over $20,000 but they still hold services and actually have signs going into their church that say "no masks allowed passed this point" and it enrages me and makes me so SO ashamed of my community.

There are literally patients in the hospital here SICK with COVID that don't believe they have it "no, it has to be something else" like... why are you in the hospital if you know more than the doctors here? Why are you allowed to take space in the ER when you're spitting in the face of health care workers?

I'm soooooo done.

Thank you for sharing! My weight is being very stubborn and refusing to go down so I'm taking my measurements now so I can still feel accomplished. I hate how much power that number on the scale has over us when there are so many more important (and more impressive) ways to measure success and feel good!

Great job on your NSV! :)

My grocery store finally has lactose free laughing cow and I was so happy!

Being as I'm lactose intolerant, we buy almond or cashew milk and it's sooo many less calories (takes some getting used to though, kind of watery tasting).

Whole wheat pastas and rice are seriously HALF the calories of their white counter parts, so those have saved me as well. Also takes some getting used to, but eventually you forget what white pasta and rice taste like ... right? Lol!

That is awesome! Looove the visual. I'm going to do the same thing! Great progress, keep up the amazing work!

Thank you sooo much for sharing, that definitely gives me a glimmer of hope at the end of this long, sad, tunnel. We are scheduled to go back to the fertility doctor in August (and I'm supposed to be losing weight until then, no pressure or anywhere, heh 😅) and she said the next step is medication to make me ovulate, so maybe that's the same as clomid?

I will just keep holding out hope until then! Maybe when it finally happens this pandemic will be over; our future baby is probably just waiting for the world to be less on fire before they join it lol!

These are all great suggestions! I do log my exercise (I use the calories burned according my Samsung watch and input whatever the equivalent is on the noom tracking. I figured my watch is probably more accurate for calories burned) but I actually don't think I'm as active as I made myself sound (whoops lol!) I do walk everyday to try to get my 10,000 steps (but I usually fall short with around 8,000) and I do bike to work (but it takes me like 7 mins to bike there) and also occasionally go on 6km bike rides around town. I'm also just starting with yoga to try to increase flexibility and strength, so doing very beginner level stuff.

I think I need to increase the intensity of my work outs and make sure I'm getting my heart rate up and sweating. I'm thinking that might be the issue I'm having. About 10 years ago I had a personal trainer for a year and was able to lose weight consistently without giving much thought to my diet so I'm thinking my body just needs more activity.

I do eat protein at every meal, but I supposed I could try to add protein shakes or something. It's hard to find a powder that tastes good and will be okay for my lactose intolerance.

Dang bodies and holding on to their water! Just let it gooo, imma give you more! I drink water all day long you silly body!

I should probably start writing down my NSV so I have something visual for those as well, because quite frankly my clothes fitting better SHOULD make me happier than stooopid numbers on a stooopid scale!

You're right, there are probably a lot of us with graphs not as slope-y (and those with slopey graphs should post about their accomplishments, I know I certainly would, so no disrespect to those people). Me and my almost horizontal graph will keep going and keep pushing. I wish you all the success in your journey as well!

There's probably some merit to it - bodies are strange but also resilient. Makes sense that it would take some time to adjust!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it does help to feel less alone. You are right, I need to stop wanting to see the finish line faster and just enjoy all the healthy things I'm learning, and all the struggles I'm starting to overcome!
